The Open Each-Way Tips
Adam Scott - 55/1 each-way 8 places bet365
Remember 2012 at Muirfield? Adam Scott seemed destined to claim the Open Championship title, only to falter with four straight bogeys in his final round, losing by a single shot to Ernie Els. The following year, Scott bounced back with a third-place finish in 2013, and then secured a solid fifth place at Hoylake in 2014. The Aussie has had his share of heartbreak and near-misses at The Open, showcasing his resilience and determination each time.
The year started well with a T8 finish at the Phoenix Open, and he has only missed two cuts since the season began. The Australian finished second at the Scottish Open last week and has finished in the top-5 of the Open Championship three times previously. I often like to side with older players for the Masters with experience being pivotal. Scott fits a lot of trends and looks worth a play here at 55/1 or bigger.
Wyndham Clark - 60/1 each-way 8 places bet365
Wyndham Clark was another player who put in a strong showing at the Scottish Open, particularly in the final round where he shot a sensational 62 to finish T-10. It’s been a mixed season so far for Clark with a win at Pebble Beach, along with second places at the Arnold Palmer and the Players Championship.
A missed cut at both The Masters, and the PGA Championship were disappointing and he could only manage T56 at the US Open at Pinehurst. He was 33rd in only his second ever Open Championship 12 months ago and after that final round at the Scottish Open he can go well at a big price.
Sunjae Im - 66/1 each-way 7 places SpreadEx
Sunjae Im finished 20th at the Open last year and makes appeal at around 66/1. Since winning in Korea in April, he has shown consistency on the PGA tour with a 4th place at Quail Hollow in the Wells Fargo, along with top-10 finishes at the Charles Schwab Challenge and the Memorial tournament.
In his last three starts he has finished T3 at the Travelers Champ, T12 at the John Deere Classic and more importantly, he finished T4 at the Renaissance Club last weekend in the Scottish Open.
Aaron Rai 75/1 each-way 5 places AKBets
The biggest price of this quartet is Adam Rai who ranks 7th on the PGA Tour this year in strokes gained on approach. Rai is also one of the straightest players off the tee which may be crucial this weekend with a turbulent weather forecast predicted.
Since the start of June, the Englishman has managed top-20 finishes at all of the five tournaments he has attended including the US Open. Second in Detroit at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and T4 at the Scottish Open give plenty of reason to believe he can outperform the long-odds on show here.
