Europe has dominated the Ryder Cup in recent years, winning nine of the last 12 editions, but those three victories all came on home soil and captain Steve Stricker has an unenviable team of talent to pick from.

When does the Ryder Cup get played?
The Ryder Cup gets played bi-annually between Europe and the USA, with each team hosting the tournament in turns. The last edition was played near in Wisconsin in 2021 where the USA won convincingly 19-9. The next Ryder Cup is due to be played near Rome, Italy at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio.
How does Ryder Cup betting differ from normal golf tournaments?
The Ryder Cup is a team event played over three days in a matchplay format rather than a usual strokeplay tournament played individually over four days. There are 12 players in each team and the first two days are played in pairs, two foursomes matches where it's pair versus pair playing alternate shots with one ball, and two fourball matches where the four players in each match play with their own ball with the lowest score winning each hole. The third day is played as a straight shootout with 12 singles matches, with the winning team the first to reach 14.5 points.

In 1979 the GB and Ire team expanded to all European teams and since then Europe won 10 of the 20 matches losing just nine, including nine wins in the last 13 editions.
Europe's Sergio Garcia has amassed the most points as a Ryder Cup player, 25.5 in total with potentially more to come. The Spaniard has won 22 of his 40 matches, halving seven.
