Frequently asked questions when betting on the US Open golf:
When is the US Open golf being played?
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak this year's tournament which was originally scheduled in June could be played as late as August. The 2020 US Open is due to be played at the legendary Winged Foot Golf Club in New York State, which has hosted the tournament five times before.
What type of player profile wins the US Open?
The US Open is renowned for being one of the hardest tournaments in the calendar year, especially on the PGA Tour. Traditionally for the US Open, the USGA will set up the course as hard as possible, long rough, narrow fairways and super fast greens to make it a true test. Factor this in when looking at the US Open odds.
This will be the sixth US Open held at Winged Foot, most recently played in 2006 where it was won by Australian Geoff Ogilvy. Other winners of the US Open here include Fuzzy Zoeller in 1984 and Hale Irwin in 1974, whilst Bobby Jones won the first time the US Open was played here in 1929. Ryan Moore won the US Amateur Championship here in 2004 so he could be a player to back at big prices whilst Phil Mickelson finished in a tie for second place the last time the tournament was played here.
We'll be looking at the stats that compliment the course set up when putting together our US Open betting tips so keep your eyes open for our latest updates.
