US Sports Betting

In May 2018, the Supreme Court ruled by 7-2 that parts of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 were unconstitutional. On the same day they ruled by 6-3 that all of the act was unconstitutional and therefore it was repealed. This meant that sports gambling was once more not deemed illegal by the highest court in the land, which allowed states on a state-by state basis to decide whether or not to legalize sports gambling.

Since that day many state legislatures have brought forward bills to allow some form of sports gambling. 14 states have already taken their first legal bet with many others waiting in the wings. You can check out our tracker of states that allow legal sports gambling to see if the state you live in or are visiting allows legal sports wagers.

The importance of the legalization of sports betting onshore is to help keep your money safe and secure. With offshore accounts, there is no come back if anything goes wrong. With legal, regulated sports betting you can be sure that your details and money are safe. Also many states use this tax bonus to fund important projects that help everyone living in their state, so you know that some of the profits are going to benefits those around you.
