Ivory Coast are the hosts of AFCON 2023. The country previously hosted the tournament in 1984 with Cameroon coming out victorious.
What is the format for AFCON 2025?
The 24 participating countries are split into six groups of four. There are six matches in every group with each country playing the other three teams once.
The top two teams from each group progress through to knockout stages, along with the four best ranked third-placed teams.
The knockout stages consist of the last-16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, third place play-off, and final.
