Tadej Pogacar enters the 2025 Tour de France as the firm favourite to claim his fourth Yellow Jersey in six years, a feat that would see him equal Chris Froome and move just one title behind all-time greats Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, and Bernard Hinault.
The Slovenian’s form this season has been nothing short of sensational, with wins in the Tour of Flanders, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and most recently the Critérium du Dauphiné - where he finished ahead of main rival Jonas Vingegaard.
Vingegaard, priced at 5/2, remains Pogacar’s biggest threat. The Dane famously defeated Pogacar in both the 2022 and 2023 editions of the Tour and has finished in the top two in each of the last four years. Between them, the duo have dominated the GC, claiming the last five Yellow Jerseys.
While Pogacar is just 4/7 to win outright, a Pogacar-Vingegaard straight forecast - which has landed twice in the past four years - is slightly more appealing at 4/6 with William Hill.
For those looking beyond the frontrunners, Primoz Roglic could offer value at 33/1. A five-time Grand Tour winner, Roglic was heartbreakingly pipped by Pogacar in the 2020 Tour and has endured a tough run since, including a crash at this year’s Giro d’Italia. Still, the motivation to bounce back is strong, and 3/1 for a podium finish looks worth a play.
Another contender worth noting is Remco Evenepoel at 14/1. The 2022 Vuelta a España winner and reigning Olympic and World Time Trial champion may find the overall GC a stretch, but 2/1 to win two or more stages - with two time trials on the schedule - is an enticing option.
Elsewhere, Pogacar’s UAE Emirates teammate Joao Almeida (20/1) could emerge as a dark horse if circumstances shift within the team. Almeida finished fourth last year and has the potential to climb further.
In the Green Jersey (Points Classification) market, Jonathan Milan leads at 9/4, followed by Jasper Philipsen (4/1), with Wout van Aert and Tim Merlier both priced at 6/1.
In his final Tour de France, 2019 winner Geraint Thomas is priced at 7/1 (Paddy Power) to bow out with a stage win.
