Tour de France Betting
Held annually in France and occasionally in some neighbouring countries (including the UK).
The Tour de France usually takes place in July and covers some 2,200 miles over the course of three weeks.
The route changes every year but typically includes a mix of flat stages, mountain stages, and time trials.
The race is divided into 21 stages and the riders are competing for the yellow jersey, which is worn by the leader of the general classification.
The leader is the rider with the fastest overall time.
Giro d'Italia Betting
The Giro d'Italia is one of the three Grand Tours of professional road cycling, alongside the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.
The race is held annually in Italy, typically in May and early June.
The route changes every year, but the race usually covers around 3,500 kilometres (2,200 miles) over the course of three weeks.
The Giro d'Italia features a combination of flat stages, mountain stages, and time trials, and the winner is determined by the overall fastest time. It is considered one of the toughest and most prestigious races in cycling.
Which are the best cycling events to bet on?
The Tour de France: The biggest event each year in the sport and is the one that even casual sports fans will have heard of. In recent years British riders have had a great record at the event with Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas all having won the race and donned the famous yellow jersey in recent years. Team Sky/INEOS' domination of the event has waned in recent years with Slovenian rider Tadej Pogacar winning the 2020 and 2021 editions of the race.
The Giro d'Italia/Vuelta a Espana: They are the other two Grand Tour events although they don't have the prestige of the Tour de France. These races take both before and after the Tour de France respectively.
The Monuments: These are five one-day races that are deemed as the premier races of their ilk each year. Paris-Roubaix is arguably the most famous as it continues to go over the cobbles but Milan-San-Remo, Tour of Flanders, Leige-Bastogne-Liege and the Giro di Lombardia are given equal billing by the sport.
