- Outright Winner (Yellow Jersey): The yellow jersey, aka the maillot jaune, is the iconic symbol of the overall leader in the Tour de France. It is sported by the cyclist with the lowest cumulative time in the general classification (GC). The highly sought-after jersey can change hands frequently throughout the duration of the three weeks.
- Points Classification (Green Jersey): The green jersey, aka the maillot vert, is given to the leader of the points classification.
