Match Preview: Spain vs France

Spain have undoubtedly been the best team to watch so far at Euro 2024 with Luis de la Fuente's troops emerging as the new 2/1 favourites to win the tournament. Their entertaining and energetic style of play has propelled them to five wins in a row, including victories over defending champions Italy and hosts Germany. They beat the latter in the 119th minute of extra-time thanks to a fantastic header from Mikel Merino, which fired his country into their fourth European Championship semi-final in the last five tournaments.

No country has scored more goals than Spain (11) who will now face the tournament's sternest defence. France have been exceptional at the back - with William Saliba excelling in particular - which has resulted in four clean sheets in five games; a re-taken Robert Lewandowski penalty is the only goal they've conceded so far. In contrast, they have surprisingly struggled in attack and have remarkably yet to score from open play.

France, who can be backed at 9/4 to lift the trophy, have won two of the last three meetings between the countries, which includes a 2-1 win in the Nations League final back in October 2021. Tuesday's encounter will be the first in a major tournament since 2012 when Spain triumphed 2-0 in the quarter-finals en-route to winning the tournament.

The Best Betting Markets for Spain vs France

The two quarter-final matches these two sides were involved in both went the distance into extra-time and I can see a repeat scenario here in Munich. Therefore a draw pops out at 2/1; a 0-0 scoreline is available at 6/1 and 1-1 ispriced at 5/1.

All five of France's matches have contained two goals or less, as have three of Spain's five, with under 2.5 goals available at 8/15.

Spain's goals have been spread throughout the team, although Olmo and Fabian Ruiz both have two goals on the board, putting them both in the conversation for the Golden Boot. Olmo is priced at 23/4 to net his third goal against France, while the excellent Ruiz is an eye-catching price at 14/1.

Kylian Mbappe is the only French player to score in five games at Euro 2024, with the Les Bleus skipper the 9/4 favourite to score on Tuesday.
