England to win Euro 2024 odds
England are priced at 13/10 to win the Euro 2024 trophy, behind the odds-on frontrunners Spain.
England came within a penalty shoot-out of winning Euro 2020 at Wembley three years ago and since then they've reached a World Cup Quarter Final in 2022 where they were beaten by eventual finalists France.
After a confident qualifying campaign in which Gareth Southgate's men picked up 20 points from a possible 24, England began Euro 2024 with a narrow win over Serbia followed by two underwhelming draws against Denmark and Slovenia, which dampened spirits. They then struggled to assert themselves against Slovakia, who led from the 25th to the 95th minute, only for Jude Bellingham to save England, then Harry Kane won the game in extra-time.
Bukayo Saka scored a superb individual goal in the 80th minute of their quarter-final clash against Switzerland to take the game into extra-time, and then penalties, where England coolly slotted home all five spot-kicks to book their place in the semi-finals.
England then reached the final after they came back from a goal down to beat Netherlands thanks to an injury-time winner from Ollie Watkins.
England Euro 2024 Top Scorer Odds
Harry Kane may not have been at his best so far in Germany but he does have three goals on the board after scoring against Denmark, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
No player has scored more goals in Germany, and the England captain will now back himself to win the Golden Boot in the final.
The England captain is priced at 9/4 in the Euro 2024 Golden Boot betting, while Jude Bellingham, 25/1, is also in the mix with two goals to his name. Bukayo Saka and Ollie Watkins are both three-figure prices.
England win Group C
England headed into the tournament as the 2/5 odds-on favourite to top Group C, and while they eventually got the job done, they were far from superior and failed to impress.
As a result they have progressed through to the last-16 as group winners.
League Pos | Team | P | W | D | L | PTS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1. | England | 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 5 |
2. | Denmark | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 3 |
3. | Slovenia | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 3 |
4. | Serbia | 3 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
England Euro 2024 Route to the Final
Winning Group C meant that England avoided the tough side of the draw which featured the likes of France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and Portugal.
After beating Slovakia in the last-16, they overcame Switzerland on penalties in the quarter-finals, to set-up a semi-final clash against the Netherlands, who they beat 2-1 to set-up a final against Spain on Sunday 14th July.
England Euro 2024 Head Coach
Rumours continue to circulate that Euro 2024 could be Gareth Southgate's final tournament in charge of England, with his contract set to expire at the end of this campaign. As such, he'll be desperate to end on a high having come so close to ending the nation's long wait for international glory at the last European Championships.
While Southgate has been criticised heavily from some quarters for a perceived negative approach, he does seem to be well-liked by the players and has garnered a much stronger atmosphere among the squad than previous incumbents have managed.
England 2024 Key Player
Although Harry Kane will be relied on to finish the chances, the responsibility of creating those chances will fall largely to the 20 year old Jude Bellingham, who has enjoyed an incredible first season at Real Madrid since joining from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
Despite his tender age, Bellingham's all-action displays can drive the team forward and if the likes of Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo can provide a solid base for him to display his talents, this tournament could see the former Birmingham City man write his name into the history books once and for all.
