Match Preview: France vs Poland
France have yet to showcase why they are one of the favourites to win Euro 2024 but they now have the chance to finish Group D on a strong note against an already eliminated Poland.
So far, France just about overcame Austria 1-0 and then drew 0-0 with the Netherlands in a game Kylian Mbappe was an unused substitute. Les Bleus lacked a cutting edge in that game so they will hope that their skipper and star man will be able to feature against Poland.
France will secure top spot in Group D if they win and the Netherlands fail to beat Austria. If both teams win - or both draw - it will come down to goal difference, then overall goals scored. If they are still tied then it will be decided on disciplinary points, and finally European Qualifiers rankings. Still with us?
As for Poland, their journey from a competitive standpoint is over following defeats to the Netherlands and Austria. Yet with Robert Lewandowski in the frame for his first start, they could well pose France problems.
Best Betting Markets for France vs Poland
France are the red hot favourites for the win at 3/10. They've not lost in any of the last seven encounters with Poland stretching back to 1982 and will be fully motivated to record the win that should be enough to claim top spot in Group D.
Poland are 12/1 to bow out of the tournament with a shock win while a draw can be found at 5/1.
France are yet to concede in Germany which makes a win to nil stand out at 23/20, with a 2-0 scoreline catching the eye at 6/1.
Kylian Mbappe is the 3/1 favourite to open the scoring, but if he doesn't start, then Antoine Griezmann will be the go to pick at 13/2.
France vs Poland Head-To-Head Statistics
France have beaten Poland in nine of the 17 meetings between the countries. They are currently enjoying an eight game unbeaten run in this fixture stretching all the way back to 1982when Poland won 4-0.
The teams last faced each other in Qatar at the 2022 World Cup, with France winning 3-1 to book their place in the quarter-finals.
