Poland Euro 2024: Prediction, Outright Odds, Path to the Final and more

Poland were unfortunate to get off to a losing start against the Netherlands at Euro 2024 and with France still to come they now face an uphill battle to qualify for the knock-out stages.

Poland to win Euro 2024 Odds

Given their poor qualifying efforts, disappointing results at previous Euros and the fact their key players, such as Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczesny, are likely nearing the end of their international careers, it was little surprise to see Poland enter the tournament as 150/1 outsiders for the Euro 2024 crown. 

Unfortunately for the White Eagles, those odds have not shortened whatsoever following their opening match defeat to the Netherlands after a heart-breaking late winner from substitute Wout Weghorst.

One positive for Poland going into this tournament is that Lewandowski has enjoyed another decent season with Barcelona, netting 26 times in his 49 appearances.

Unfortunately however, the experienced forward missed the defeat to Netherlands with injury and his odds to win the Golden Boot in Germany have lengthened out to 66/1 with BetMGM.

Adam Buksa was the man to open the scoring for Poland in their opening match with a well-taken header, but he's not being considered in the Golden Boot running by the bookmakers.

Poland Euro 2024 Route to the Final

If the Eagles defy the odds and reach the knockout stage, assuming they finish second and based on matches going the way of favourites, their potential route to the final could see them take on Ukraine in the Round of 16 before a potential quarter final with Portugal. Perhaps the only positive for Poland, aside from Lewandowski’s talent, is that they went into the tournament unbeaten under Michal Probierz, who had won three and drawn three of his six matches since taking the job in 2023.

The experienced manager has coached almost exclusively in his home nation, earning cup honours with Jagiellonia and Cracovia in a lengthy career. 

Probierz has utilised a 3-5-2 system in all but one of his six matches in charge of the Eagles, with his system heavily reliant on defensive rigidity and moments of magic from Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski.

That same formation was utilised on Matchday One against de Oranje but a late Wout Weghorst goal spelt the end of Probierz's unbeaten run in charge of his country.
