South Africa vs. Wales Odds: Back Wales to make history against South Africa on Saturday
The fourth Test of another bumper Saturday of rugby will see Wales look for their first ever win against the Springboks on South African soil. The game will kick off at 4:05pm GMT, and you can watch it live on Sky Sports.
South Africa vs Wales Tips
The heartbreak of last weekend’s defeat will be fresh in the mind of the Welsh players, as an 83rd minute penalty saw the Springboks come away with a 32-29 win. Since then it’s surprisingly been all change for the hosts, as they’ve made a whopping 14 changes to their starting XV, including a new captain, and six uncapped players.
South Africa’s head coach Jacques Nienaber has rung the changes, with his focus being on strength in depth with next year’s World Cup creeping in.
For Wales, it’s just the one change, with Alex Cuthbert coming in to replace Josh Adams on the Welsh wing. After having a result snatched in the cruelest way possible, the visitors will be looking to create some history on Saturday afternoon, and we’ve picked out two bets that have caught our eye in our match preview.
Starting off, we’re looking to the incoming Alex Cuthbert to make an immediate impact on Saturday. His winger on the other side, Louis Rees-Zammit, managed two in the first Test, and so his price is as expected, shorter for this game.
Cuthbert has just one international try in the last five years, coming in the recent Autumn Internationals against Fiji, but interestingly enough, he does have history with South Africa, scoring in consecutive matches during the 2014 Tour. As mentioned previously, there’s plenty of players with prices of around EVENS, so we’ve gone for the slightly bigger 14/5 for Cuthbert with SpreadEx.
Next up, I’m predicting that it’s finally time for the Welsh side to make history.
Having come so close to a draw last time out, the players will surely be raring to go to leave no doubt around this time. With the wholesale changes made by the Springboks, there could be a few cobwebs to shake off for the home side, and with four wins in their last seven against South Africa in all competitions, the proud Welshmen will surely make it their time, and stamp their names into the history books.
As always, enjoy the game, let’s hope the tips do well, and please gamble responsibly.
