Australia vs. England Odds: Back England to tie the series in Brisbane

Last week can definitely be classed as a missed opportunity for England, as they failed to overcome a 14-man Australia, and eventually fell to a 30-28 loss. England had 40+ minutes with an extra man last Saturday, and at the time of the sending off were up on the scoreboard, but in fairness to the Wallabies, they showed their grit and determination, and managed to hold off a late fightback to secure the win.
Australia vs England Tips
That defeat has forced Aussie native Eddie Jones to mix up his English team, as he makes four changes in a must win Test. Sam Underhill comes in at Flanker for Tom Curry, with the uncapped Guy Porter and Tommy Freeman making their first Roses appearances. Elsewhere, scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet starts for the first time, in place of the experienced Danny Care.
Jones has for now resisted to use the explosive Henry Arundell from the off, despite his sensational impact in Perth off the bench.
As previously stated, this is a must win game for England if they are to stay in the three Test series, and we’ve previewed this crunch tie, providing two tips for you. You can watch the game live on Sky Sports, at 10:55am GMT.
Starting off, we’re going to look at England reaching 10 points before the Aussies. This line landed in the first Test last week, and I’m expecting more of the same here. There was plenty of penalties in the first 40 before things opened up in the second half, and Owen Farrell was accurate as ever with the boot.
As stated, I think it’ll be a similar style of match, with both teams looking for any edge they can get early on. If England can go into half-time with a six-point lead, they’ll be confident of holding on to keep the series alive. This bet is best priced at 11/10 with BoyleSports, compared to 21/20 elsewhere.
Next up, we’re leading with the inspirational Maro Itoje to cross the white line for five points. This is more of a hunch rather than stats based, as I’ve always seen Itoje as a man for the big occasion.
Itoje has only scored four tries in his 56 caps, but notably, two of them have been in the last 18 months. With the emphasis early on going to be on the strength of the packs before the expected openness of the second half, don’t be surprised to see Itoje hanging round the back of a driving maul, and hopefully cross the line to add to England’s score.
As always, best of luck if you’re watching the game, and please gamble responsibly.
