Ryder Cup 2023 Day 2 Betting Tips: Best bets for Saturday
After an eventful Day 1 which saw Europe conjure up a record-equalling 6½-1½ scoreline, the Ryder Cup returns bright and early on Saturday for Day 2's action.
The four Foursomes clashes will once again take place first thing, swiftly followed by the four Fourballs.
Here are our two best bets for Saturday's play.
Ryder Cup Day 2 Foursomes Matches
Given the manner in which Europe dominated Friday's Foursomes, it perhaps won't come as too much of a surprise to learn that skipper Luke Donald has opted to stick with the same four pairs for the Saturday morning session, while the USA - who desperately need to make a quick start - have mixed things up a little.
Here's the order of play (all times BST):
6.35am - Rory McIlroy & Tommy Fleetwood vs Justin Thomas & Jordan Spieth
6.50am - Viktor Hovland & Ludvig Aberg vs Scottie Scheffler & Brooks Koepka
7.05am - Shane Lowry & Sepp Straka vs Max Homa & Brian Harman
7.20am - Jon Rahm & Tyrrell Hatton vs Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele
Ryder Cup Day 2 Tips
Europe enjoyed a sensational start to the 2023 Ryder Cup, whitewashing their opponents 4-0 in front of a jubilant home crowd.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton got the blue ball rolling, with Viktor Hovland/Ludvig Aberg, Shane Lowry/Sepp Straka, and then Rory McIlroy/Tommy Fleetwood all following suit, leaving the United States stunned.
Europe's recent Foursomes record on home soil is extremely impressive, accumulating 17 points to America's 3 in the last five Foursomes sessions. They've won four of those five sessions, including two 4-0 triumphs.
At 11/8, the hosts look a decent price with William Hill to record yet another Foursomes session win.
After successfully backing McIlroy/Fleetwood at 11/10 to beat Schauffele/Cantlay in the Foursomes on Day 1, we are once again targetting the same American dup, except this time we are putting our faith in Rahm/Hatton to come out on top, which is priced at 11/10 with Paddy Power.
The partnership of Rahm/Hatton stormed to an impressive 4&3 win over Scheffler/Burns on Friday morning. Both players would then return with different playing partners in the afternoon Fourballs session, and each recorded a prized half-point.
Rahm incredibly holed two eagles in the final three holes to keep the score level in his match, while Hatton's teammate Hovland rescued a dramatic half-point on the 18th.
The duo are red-hot right now and will fancy their chances of inflicting another defeat upon Schauffele/Cantlay, whose 100% Ryder Cup Foursomes record was burst by McIlroy/Fleetwood.
