Five of Koln's six points have come in their last four matches, with a 6-0 defeat to RB Leipzig the outlier between a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach and back-to-back draws with Augsburg and VFL Bochum. Without a competitive win since February 2011 in this head-to-head fixture, Steffen Baumgart's men will certainly have their work cut out for them on Friday.
Following the humiliating second round DFB Pokal exit to Saarbrucken at the start of November, Bayern Munich are back on the horse. Thomas Tuchel's side thumped Dortmund 4-0, edged past Galatasaray in the Champions League and defeated Heidenheim 4-2 in their last outing before the international break. Things should continue from here but perhaps it won't be as straightforward as many would believe considering that Koln snatched a draw at the Allianz Arena and Bayern won by just a single goal at this venue last season.
Koln vs Bayern Munich Tips
England's reliance on Harry Kane was on full display during their closing Euros qualifier with North Macedonia which ended in a 1-1 draw. The 30-year-old didn't experience his most enjoyable international break, starting one of his country's two fixtures and receiving a yellow card for diving when denied what most believed should have been a penalty. Despite that, he did still notch in that win over Malta and the Three Lions equalised shortly after he was introduced in the second qualifier. However, Kane is a goal hungry individual and given how his time in Germany has gone so far, he should be incredibly motivated for his return to club football.
The former Spurs striker has 28 goal involvements for Munich, hitting 21 goals in 16 matches across two competitions, with a record of 17 in 11 in the Bundesliga. This exceptional start has seen him average a goal every 57 minutes, failing to score in only two league outings. More recently, the star forward has netted 12 in his last six outings for Bayern, but at an extremely short 11/20 to score anytime, we're siding with him to be the game's opening goalscorer instead.
Four of his goals have come in the first 15 minutes, with Kane being the first name on the scoresheet twice. With the added motivation of returning to his new home with a bang, we think there's a good amount of juice in the 5/2 for Kane to score first.
At 8/1 we also fancy Harry Kane to return by making a real statement once again. On top of his already impressive goalscoring numbers, Kane has recorded three braces and three hat-tricks in a Bayern Munich shirt. Two of those doubles and two of those triples have come in his last four matches, with consecutive hat-tricks against Darmstadt and away to Dortmund before back-to-back braces against Galatasaray and Heidenheim last time out.
Although the games with Koln were tight for Bayern Munich last season, Friday's hosts look miles off it this term. They've acquired just six points from 11 matches and were thumped 6-0 by Leipzig and lost 3-0 to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, meaning Bayern and Kane should fancy their chances of scoring a few. As a brace is best priced at just 21/10, we're holding out for him to record a fourth hat-trick instead.
