Bayern Munich vs. Augsburg Betting Tips: Back Kane to turn provider in Munich
Bayern Munich take on Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday with the game kicking-off at 16:30 BST and being shown live on Sky Sports Football. We’ve asked Anthony Eadson to provide us with two tips that he thinks represent value in the betting markets.
Bayern are bidding to win a 12th consecutive Bundesliga title this season and are priced at just 1/5 with most betting sites to do so. Thomas Tuchel’s men started their campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Werder Bremen in matchday one, thanks to goals from Harry Kane, Mathys Tel, as well as a brace from former Manchester City forward Leroy Sane.
Augsburg featured in one of the best games of the opening round of fixtures in the Bundesliga last week as they played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach. If it weren't for a 98th minute equaliser Augsburg would have taken all three points, but their task of getting that first win on the board will not get any easier with a trip to the Champions.
Unsurprisingly Bayern are the short-priced favourites to get the win on Sunday afternoon, priced at 1/12 to do so with bet365. The draw can be backed at 11/1, while a win for the visitors can be found all the way out at 18/1.
Bayern Munich vs Augsburg Tips
Both of my selections from Germany involve a certain Harry Kane. On his Bundesliga debut Kane found the net in a match where he let off six shots with three hitting the target. The former Spurs talisman also recorded an assist setting up Leroy Sane after just four minutes and I’m backing a repeat at the Allianz Arena.
In the 2020/21 Premier League season, Kane recorded more assists than any other player in the division with 14 and then managed nine in the following campaign. It is fair to say that Bayern are a side who score a lot more goals than Spurs and I think there is scope to set a new personal best for assists in the campaign ahead.
BetVictor have this selection priced at just 4/5 and I think there is some serious juice in the 7/4 with bet365 considering that it would be no surprise to see the hosts bang in a handful of goals against a side they are 1/12 to beat.
In his final season with Spurs, Kane set a new Premier League record for the most headed goals scored in a single campaign. The 30-year-old scored a whopping 10 goals via his swede in 2022/23 and with service from Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman I fancy him to get a good few this season.
Sky Bet have ‘boosted’ Kane to score a header on Sunday from 9/4 to 3/1. I’ve therefore decided to take the 5/1 that is available with bet365 which represents value in my eyes.
