Werder Bremen vs. Bayern Munich Tips: Kane can shine In Bundesliga debut
English fans will be paying more attention to the Bundesliga, and particularly Bayern Munich, this season after star striker and national team captain Harry Kane finally escaped the clutches of perennial losers Spurs to head for Deutschland.
Kane’s first game in Bayern colours was one to forget as he came off the bench in a humiliating 3-0 Super Cup defeat to Leipzig, but Thomas Tuchel’s side are still a short price for glory in the league and a stunning eleventh Bundesliga title in a row. They are even shorter to beat Werder Bremen away in Gameweek One on Friday night and here we have previewed the clash with a couple of recommended bets…
Most rival fans in Germany will have enjoyed seeing the side that have ruined the competitiveness of German football for over a decade now Bayern Munich have their pride dented by a rampant Leipzig in the Super Cup. One fanbase that were probably cursing the Leipzig onslaught, however, will be the Werder Bremen faithful. Once perennial European challengers, Werder were relegated in 2020 and although they bounced straight back up, they are not the force of old.
Tasked with hosting Bayern, on the hunt for an eleventh title in a row and bolstered by a certain record breaking Englishman this season, Bremen's job now looks even trickier with Thomas Tuchel sure to have been apoplectic with his side's meagre display in the season curtain raiser. Expect Bayern to go strong and fly out of the traps at Bremen with the hope of erasing quickly any memory of last week's humbling experience.
Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich Tips
A simple but smart looking play to kick us off here is for Bayern to be winning at half time and at full time. It would be no surprise to most if last season's champions were aiming to begin 2023/24 at a furious pace considering how close their sloppy start in 2022/23 came to costing them the Bundesliga. In the end only a choke of astronomical proportions by rivals Dortmund on the final day meant Bayern retained their crown and continued their record breaking sequence.
Couple the need for a fast start to their league campaign with the desire to right the wrongs of last weekend and the 4/5 on offer looks like a gift from bet365 for Bayern HT/FT. With Thomas Tuchel certain to field his strongest team, which will include Harry Kane after the striker proved his match sharpness (albeit not in the circumstances he'd been dreaming about) last week, I would be surprised if Bremen manage to stop the Bayern juggernaut from taking at least a one goal lead into the changing rooms at half-time.
In four of the last five meetings between these two sides it has been the side from Munich that has come out on top and in three of these victories this bet would've landed, so throwing in the external factors we have already mentioned this 4/5 bet looks as solid as they come to headline this preview.
Yes I know this is a boring pick, but 3/1 does look generous from our friends at BoyleSports on Harry Kane opening the scoring on his Bundesliga debut. Kane is an elite athlete with an outstanding mentality and a lot of the jibes at him about being a curse are unfounded, however he will have been smarting after seeing all the hype about him winning his first trophy inside 24 hours of signing for Bayern going up in flames and reading more mocking of his trophy drought all over social media.
Not that he needs any added motivation, but this will just add fuel to the fire for England's captain to begin his maiden Bundesliga campaign with a bang. He is favourite for the Golden Boot in his first season in Germany and spearheading a Bayern attack that boasts an embarrassment of riches he should see plenty of chances. He is also set to take penalties for the Bavarians which is another feather in the cap of this tip.
Kane has evolved his game somewhat over the years and become a complete forward, however at Bayern I expect to see him return to his predatory ways as an out and out number nine getting on the end of the tantililsing balls the likes of Sane, Musiala, Gnabry and the rest of the crew will be feeding him. Bayern should start fast and Bremen are no immovable object in defensive terms so Kane to score the first goal at 3/1 looks a decent way to wrap things up.
