RB Leipzig vs. Bayern Munich Betting Tips: Marco Rose's impressive head-to-head record to continue
Perennial Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich make the trip to Leipzig in a televised clash at 5:30pm on Saturday.
These two meet one another hot off the heels of two very different levels of comfort from the midweek DFB Pokal first round results. RB Leipzig rotated heavily and were given a moderate scare in their 3-2 win over Wehen Wiesbaden, while Munich comfortably disposed of third-tier club Preußen Münster 4-0.
The DFL Supercup pitted these two teams against one another before the Bundesliga campaign began and Leipzig ran out as surprising 3-0 winners in the German equivalent of England's Community Shield.
In the league, Bayern are undefeated, winning four and drawing one, while Leipzig have a solitary defeat next to their record thanks to Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen.
RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich Tips
Marco Rose has his RB Leipzig purring and they, along with Bayer Leverkusen, should be seen as legitimate outsiders to dethrone Bayern Munich this term.
Since taking over in September 2022, Leipzig have netted 125 goals in 52 matches for their new head honcho, which works out roughly at an average of 2.40 goals per game.
This season alone they've netted 14 from five games, extending to 20 in seven if considering the season's first UCL match and Wednesday's DFB Pokal tie.
Their 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach remains the only occasion in which they've failed to score two or more goals this term, which is rather impressive when you consider they've put two past contenders Bayer Leverkusen, three against UCL side Union Berlin, a whopping five when facing third-placed Stuttgart and three beyond their opponents here.
This bet has landed in all but one of their 2023/24 matches, and although there's an expected jump in quality, the fact that Munich have kept just two lonesome clean sheets so far and have allowed Rose's side to put three past them in each of the last two meetings has us confident of a third consecutive success for this selection.
If there's anything these two's previous meetings have taught us to expect it's goals.
10 of their 18 meetings have seen 3+ goals scored, with six of those featuring four or more.
This goals line has only failed to stick in one of their last six head-to-heads when the pair saw out a 1-1 draw earlier this year.
Despite Munich's unbeaten start, they're far from the perfect picture of a team. Look to the result in the campaign's curtain-raiser as an indication of how the German champions can still be pulled apart when it isn't their day.
Coupling that with conceding three goals to a frail Man Utd side in the Champions League and shipping 10 in eight fixtures this term, we have good reason to believe Leipzig stand a real chance at home to the title holders.
Marco Rose has a 73% win ratio since being appointed at RB Leipzig, losing just nine of his 52 games in charge.
The German also has an incredible record to gloat about when it comes to facing Bayern Munich, drawing once and winning twice in his three head-to-heads. This record does stretch beyond his time in Leipzig too, with no other coach overseeing more competitive wins against Bayern Munich than Rose with four since the 2019/20 season.
For whatever reason it might be, some teams and some managers just have the better of elite sides, and with Rose at the helm we're choosing to believe that trend will continue with a high-scoring affair on Saturday evening.
