How To Bet On Formula 1: Without Max Verstappen, Driver Match Bets and Constructor Match Bets
The 2024 Formula 1 season is just around the corner, with Max Verstappen aiming to follow up his record-breaking season of dominance last year.
Beginning in Bahrain, where the teams are spending three days putting their new machines through their paces in testing, the season takes in 24 rounds across five continents, finally wrapping up in December in Abu Dhabi.
There are numerous markets to bet on over the F1 season as well as at every race.
While the world of Formula 1 can be full of daunting technical jargon, you don't need to know your purple sectors from your DRS zones to dabble confidently in the betting markets.
Here, we provide a guide to the most popular markets for the upcoming season.

How To Bet On the Without Max Verstappen Market
With Verstappen having won a ridiculous 19 of the 23 Grands Prix last season, it's no surprise that the Red Bull driver is a prohibitive price to collect his fourth consecutive world championship this season.
Luckily, bookmakers are offering betting on drivers to win the title or finish second to the Dutch dynamo.
Verstappen's Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez is the favourite in this market, having won two races and finished second in the title race last year.
However, Perez collected less than half of Verstappen's points and was under pressure for the runner-up spot from Lewis Hamilton deep into the campaign.
Lando Norris amassed more points than anyone other than Verstappen after his McLaren team introduced a major car upgrade at the ninth race of the season in Austria, and could prove a better bet.
Meanwhile, Ferrari will be going all out to improve after a disappointing 2023 campaign. Their lead, driver Charles Leclerc, who will be welcoming Hamilton as a team-mate in 2025, finished second at each of the final two races of last season and should give punters a good run for their money at a big price.

How To Bet On Driver Match Bets
It is also possible to bet on a driver to beat a named rival over the course of the season.
Usually these markets pitch team-mates against each other, but they are often more interesting when drivers from rival outfits are matched up.
For example, Mercedes driver George Russell can be backed to score more points during the season than Aston Martin's veteran double world champion Fernando Alonso.
The Spaniard had a fantastic year last season, standing on the podium after six of the first eight races, but that success will be hard to replicate now that other teams have got to grips better with the regulations.
Russell ended a disappointing eighth in the drivers' championship, but saw several strong results slip from his grasp and he was valued for a much higher tally.

How To Bet On Constructor Match Bets
Like driver match bets, you can also bet on a team to score more points than a named rival.
All points scored by each of a team's two drivers in the 24 Grands Prix and six Sprints count towards the constructors' championship and there are lucrative rewards for each position gained in the standings.
Ferrari missed out on second place to Mercedes by just three points last year, but the Prancing Horse was the fundamentally faster car.
Their eight pole positions over the season are evidence of that and, with new boss Frederic Vasseur having proved a level-headed influence, it would be no surprise to see them start to translate that pace into stronger results.
