France kicked off their quest for World Cup glory with a dominant 4-1 win over Australia in their first Group D clash and they can book their place in the last-16 on Saturday with a win over Denmark, who stuttered to a 0-0 draw with Tunisia in their opening game. Having trailed 1-0 to Australia thanks to an early Craig Goodwin goal, France were eyeing down the barrel of another shock defeat at this World Cup, but unlike Germany and Argentina the former winners of the event bounced back from adversity with aplomb as a brace from Olivier Giroud and goals from Kylian Mbappe and Adrien Rabiot handed Didier Deschamps' men an easy 4-1 win.
Giroud joined Thierry Henry in the record books as the joint top goalscorer in French football history with his two goals and with Karim Benzema on the sidelines the current AC Milan frontman will be the focal point for most attacks.
Hot favourites for the win on Saturday at around 4/5, France will not only have the presence of Giroud leading the line, but in the aforementioned Mbappe they have a real superstar of his era and he terrorised the Australian defence at times in the first match, and the PSG star is sure to be given the ball in wide areas at any moment.
Much of Denmark's clash with Tunisia was made about Christian Eriksen, who was returning to tournament football for his country after a frightening experience at the European Championships last season, and while the Manchester United midfielder was the class act in the Danish side they lacked significant attacking edge in the final third against a stoic Tunisian defence.
Likely to be defending for most parts, Denmark will still fancy their chances of qualifying from the group, as they will be favourites against Australia next week, but they are 4/1 chances to bag a shock win here and it's hard to see them landing the three points.
The draw is available at 11/4 and that could be Denmark's best hope by trying to frustrate the French, but with such star performers within Deschamps' side then it's hard to not see France making it two wins out of two and boosting their World Cup hopes with a win.

Kylian Mbappe produced an excellent performance in the win over Australia, as not only did he get a goal during the 90 minutes, but he was a constant threat in attack with his sheer pace and driving nature in the final third.
