Eurovision 2024 Tip
Huge move on Israel
After last night’s second semi-final in Sweden, Israel’s chances of winning Eurovision 2024 have increased massively according to the bookmakers.
All betting sites have seen a dramatic move in the market after a surge of bets resulting in Israel’s odds being slashed from a massive 66/1, all the way into just 5/2 with some firms.
It's intriguing how events like the Eurovision Song Contest can become intertwined with political tensions. On Thursday evening, Israel secured a spot in the Song Contest after progressing through the second semi-final. Concurrently, a series of protests unfolded throughout the day in the host city.
As a result, their current odds of 5/2 implies a massive 28.6% chance of being victorious, compared to just 1.5% 48 hours prior.
Croatia remain favourites and for good reason
The host nation Sweden will kick off the running order for the main event and despite Israel’s huge move in the market, Croatia remain the favourite priced at just under even money with most bookmakers.
Baby Lasagna’s ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ is a hugely catchy song that we believe will take the continent by storm on Saturday. Already racking up over six million views on Youtube, the Croatian band were massively impressive in their Semi-Final and are now bidding to win the competition for the first time in history.
Odds of 10/11 represents a 52.4% chance they will finish top of the pile and we believe Croatian dreams will come true in Malmo.
No hope for the United Kingdom at a three-figure price
Taking a look at the rest of the market and Switzerland’s price has also been on the move this week and they have been cut into 6/1. France (12/1) and Ukraine (16/1), make up the top-five in the outright winner market and it’s worth remembering that most bookmakers are paying four places each-way at 1/5 odds.
The market does not like the chances of the United Kingdom’s entry from Olly Alexander with his song ‘Dizzy’. Some bookmakers have the UK priced all the way out at 250/1 for Eurovision glory, while for those looking to have a bet on Ireland 20/1 is available.
