With the increase in betting on White Christmas' over the years, Met offices now check on whether there is snow at each individual airport to determine whether it has snowed on Christmas day. For those betting on the event, they will all be settled based on airport findings.
Glasgow - 2/1
Glasgow comes in as the shortest price in the market for snowfall on Christmas day. 2/1 is on offer for snow at Glasgow airport. As is the case with the vast majority of the UK and Ireland, the last time Glasgow had a white Christmas was 2010.
Edinburgh - 9/4
Next up Edinburgh is at 9/4 if you fancy a White Christmas there. According to some people Edinburgh had a “technical White Christmas” as parts of snow were recorded on December 25th last year, however, that was only in a few locations.
Newcastle - 3/1
Newcastle is priced at 3/1 for snowfall on Christmas. The Met Office is reporting hazardous conditions with warnings of snow and ice towards the end of December meaning they could be lucky enough to have some snow on the 25th.
Belfast - 11/4
Belfast are priced at around 3/1 for a White Christmas. The Met Office have said it’s very unlikely that snow will fall around Christmas time in Northern Ireland but that hasn’t stopped bookies from pricing them up.
Leeds - 7/2
Leeds come in as a big price at 7/2 for a White Christmas. In 2020 many North and East Yorkshire residents were blessed by snow on the 25th. Much like the rest of the UK, ice cold weather is expected according to the Met Office but it remains a mystery if snow is on the cards.
Manchester - 4/1
Manchester is also a big price at around 4/1 with no White Christmas recorded since 2010. Reports are coming out that a White Christmas could be on the cards with the weather getting colder than first anticipated, a trend that according to the Met Office is set to continue.
New York
It wouldn’t be a White Christmas without New York being mentioned. Whilst it’s the dream of many to experience a snowy Christmas in New York, the chances have dwindled to only around 16% for snowfall here hence the big price offered by bookmakers.
Others
There are plenty of others in the betting market and we could spend all day talking about them. For those interested the market will be below and if you fancy your luck or are just curious about where you’re based, the odds for many places are priced up.
