Euro 2024 Odds: Who are the favourites?

Hosts Germany and 23 other teams will compete at the finals of Euro 2024, but who are the favourites to lift the trophy? Today we’ve taken a look at the teams at the head of betting and their current prices.
France - 9/2
France secured their place at the Euro 2024 finals after their 2-1 win against The Netherlands on October 13. Les Bleus have been a dominant force in international football for nearly a decade and were crowned World Cup winners in 2018 when they saw off Croatia in the final.
They are filled with confidence as they aim to make a deep run in the tournament once again. Didier Deschamps’ side were knocked out on penalties by Switzerland at the most recent European Championships, but have lifted the trophy on two previous occasions, in 1984 and 2000.
Most bookmakers have France chalked-up at 4/1 or 9/1 to be crowned Euro 2024 winners. With quality throughout their squad and one of the most feared attackers in world football in Kylian Mbappe, no team will want to bump into France on their path to the final. Their current odds of 9/2 implies an 18% chance of success in Germany.
England - 9/2
Gareth Southgate remains at the helm for England and has overseen the national side reaching a quarter-final, final, and semi-final across their last three tournaments. There is no denying England have made significant progress over the last decade and the expectation on the shoulders of both player and manager is higher than ever.
In Jude Bellingham, England have one of the most talented players on the planet at the moment, with the 20-year-old running the show for his new employers at the Bernabeu. With Harry Kane and an ever-improving Bukayo Saka, they have an attack that can cause any defence issues, however questions remain about the defence.
There is a nice blend of youth and experience throughout the current England squad and most betting sites have installed The Three Lions as 9/2 joint-favourites along with France. Will that wait for a major trophy finally end?
Germany - 7/1
After the sacking of Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann has taken over as the head coach of the German national side. Due to hosting the tournament Die Mannschaft will be guaranteed a place at the finals which starts in June 2024.
It has been a rough year for Germany who went on a run of five games without a win and three consecutive defeats heading into the autumn. Nagelsmann will want his squad to remain as competitive as possible in their friendly matches between now and next summer and he is blessed with two extremely talented youngsters in the form of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz.
Germany were knocked out in the round of 16 by England at Euro 2020 and most betting sites go just 7/1 that three-time winners and three-time runners-up Germany will lift the European Championship trophy in July.
Spain - 8/1
After their disappointing exit in the round of 16 in the 2022 World Cup, Spain opted for a change of management with Luis Enrique replaced by Luis de la Fuente as the head coach.
Spain were another of the sides who secured their place at Euro 2024 during the October international break after managing a 1-0 victory of Norway. Their squad has lacked quality in the last few years in comparison to the barnstorming crop that collected three consecutive major trophies between 2008 and 2012.
Spain were knocked out on panelaties by Morocco at the World Cup in 2022, but bookmakers are by no means writing them off for Euro glory, pricing them at 8/1.
Portugal - 9/1
Rounding off the top five teams in the outright winner market for Euro 2024 are Portugal. Another side who replaced their manager after the World Cup - Roberto Martinez was appointed to replace Fernando Santos who guided Portugal to their last European Championship triumph back in 2016.
Their current squad is brimming with talent from the likes of Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, Bruno Fernandes, to Ruben Dias and the evergreen Cristiano Ronaldo. Martinez faces a tough job in striking a balance between the senior players and the younger talent but as they have shown in many major tournaments before, Portugal have a certain nous that allows them to find a way to battle through to the latter stages.
9/1 is widely available from the bookmakers for Portugal to lift the trophy and it’s also worth noting that 2 places each-way are available at 1/3-odds with most firms.
