Slovenia started their Euro 2024 journey with a 1-1 draw against Denmark, followed by another 1-1 against Serbia. Slovenia are coached by Matjaz Kek, who took over the national team for a second time in 2018 having previously overseen the side between 2007 and 2011, including over the course of their last major tournament appearance in the 2010 World Cup.

The 62-year-old spent the vast majority of his playing career at his hometown club of Maribor and managed the side on three separate occasions.

Kek’s current spell in charge of Slovenia has seen him win 27 of his 58 games at the helm. He operates a standard 4-4-2 formation, although he could take a more defensive approach when facing the continent’s elite.
