Match Preview: Poland vs Austria
Poland go into their second game of Euro 2024 knowing that they need three points against Austria to stand any realistic chance of progress.
The White Eagles put themselves in a great position in their opening game thanks to an Adam Buksa header, only for Cody Gakpo to equalise before a late Wout Weghorst winner condemned them to defeat against de Oranje.
It wasn't the worst display from Poland though and they could welcome back the talismanic Robert Lewandowski into the fold for this game after he missed out on the opener through injury for this pivotal match.
At the time of writing, Austria themselves are preparing for their first game of the tournament, against les Bleus in Dusseldorf, but they come into the tournament in high spirits having been revitalised under Ralf Rangnick in recent years.
Burschen were excellent in qualifying and they unsurprisingly favour a pressing style under the German coach, which could be too much for this Polish defence to handle.
With four of the best third-placed teams set to go through to the next round, both of these teams know that three points here could still see them progress even if they are unable to beat either France or the Netherlands - but it's Austria that are the bookmakers' favourites to secure the win.
Poland vs Austria Head-To-Head Statistics
Poland have the upper hand when it comes to previous meetings between these two proud footballing nations, having won six of the 11 overall meetings between the sides.
You have to go back to 1994 to find the last time Burschen beat the White Eagles and indeed all three of Austria's wins in this fixture have come in friendly games. Here's a look back at the last five meetings between the teams.

The Best Betting Markets for Poland vs Austria
Poland almost sprung a shock in their opening game against the Netherlands but they remain underdogs for this fixture against Austria. While we wait to see how Burschen's first game against France pans out, they are 21/20 favourites while the White Eagles are 13/5 to bounce back from that defeat to de Oranje.
Expecting this game to pan out in a similar way for Michal Probierz's men? You can get around 18/5 on both teams to score in the first half, or a huge 21/2 on Austria to win from behind. In the goalscoring market, perhaps the fit-again Robert Lewandowski will mark his return to the team with a goal.
