England reached their first European Championship final and their first major championship final since 1966 after coming through their semi final versus Denmark on Wednesday 2-1 after extra-time.
Italy have been the form team in the competition winning every game of the groups stages before coming past Austria after extra time in the last sixteen, beating Belgium 2-1 in the quarter finals and then seeing off Spain on penalties in Tuesday's semi, after the game finished 1-1.
The teams have met 27 times with Italy winning 10, England eight and nine draws. Italy have had the better of it in championship finals though, beating England 2-1 in the 2014 and also at Euro 2012 winning on penalties.
The bookies make England the favourites. Odds on to lift the trophy, Gareth Southgate's side are around the 17/10 mark to win the match in 90 mins which represents a 37% probability of winning according to the bookies. Italy are 2/1 (33%) and so is the draw in what looks like being a really closely matched final.
