Austria to win Euro 2024 odds: Ralf Rangnick's side win Group D

Despite being placed in one of the tournament's toughest groups, Austria accumulated six points from three Euro 2024 games to claim top spot in Group D.

Ralf Rangnick's troops were narrowly beaten by favourites France in their opening game, but responded with a 3-1 victory over Poland then a fantastic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands which meant they progressed through to the last-16 as group winners where they will face Turkey.

Austria were initially out at 50/1 to win Euro 2024, odds which have been cut to 16/1 following their fantastic showing in Group D.

While Premier League fans' perception of Ralf Rangnick may not be too favourable after his calamitous spell in charge of Manchester United, in Germany and, increasingly Austria, he is often heralded as one of the greatest coaches of this generation.

One of the forefathers of the Gegenpress style, Rangnick took over Austria in April 2022 and led the team to qualification for the tournament with just one defeat from eight matches and his popularity was increased further after a recent 6-1 friendly victory over Turkey.

Having rejected the Bayern Munich job to stay on as Austria coach, it's fair to say that Rangnick is enjoying himself in this role and if he can progress the team from this difficult group he will be even more popular with the nation's football fans this summer.
