Wimbledon Day 1 Betting Tips: Three bets for opening day at All England Club
It's proven to be an action-packed summer of sport so far, with Wimbledon joining the party over the course of the next two weeks.
MaxTipster has already previewed the Men's and Women's outright betting markets - click on the links below - now it's time for his tips for the opening day (Monday).
It’s finally time for Wimbledon, my personal favourite Grand Slam of the year.
We have 64 matches to choose from, both on the ATP and WTA side.
I will be going through some of the matches where I see value.
Wimbledon Day 1 Tips
Aslan Karatsev faces Luca Van Assche in one of the first matches of the day.
The Frenchman played his first professional match on the grass this year, and didn't look too comfortable.
He lost to a Challenger (high ITF) level player, Henri Squire, in Halle 6-2 6-2.
He did manage to find some form in Eastbourne, where he beat Gojo and Loffhagen, however I feel that Karatsev's game will be too much for van Assche, and I have Karatsev's odds slightly lower than what we're currently seeing.
Harriet Dart is enjoying her time on the grass, with her record so far at 8-4. A lot better than her overall season, 21-21.
Dart's reached the quarter-final in Nottingham before losing to the eventual champion Katie Boulter.
Dart's beaten some solid players on the grass, including Anhelina Kalinina (6-0 bagel in the first set) twice, and the Canadian Rebecca Marino. She's taken Tatjana Maria and Anastasia Potapova to three sets.
She now faces Diane Parry, who has just played the one match on the grass this season, and lost to Lauren Davis in three sets.
I think this is a great chance for the Brit to score a good solid win in the opening round of her Wimbledon 2023 journey.
I love Alexander Bublik's chances at Wimbledon this year.
He won his first ATP tour title of the year in Halle on the grass, beating Borna Coric, Jan-Lennard Struff, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, and Andrey Rublev to secure the title.
He opted out of last week's tournament, to fully prepare for Wimbledon. In the first round he faces the American Mackenzie McDonald, who has managed to get some good results this year on the grass.
He's beaten the likes of JJ Wolf, Borna Coric, Taylor Fritz, and Mikael Ymer, but I wouldn't say those players are amazing in these conditions.
I have confidence in Bublik, and I like the set spread over the game spread.
