The Hammers sit in ninth place on 24 points after 16 matches heading into Sunday’s contest. West Ham lost their last Premier League match 5-0 at Craven Cottage against Fulham, ending a four-match unbeaten streak (W3 D1 L0). David Moyes’ side were in action on Thursday evening where they managed a 2-0 victory of Freiburg in the Europa League.
Wolves played out a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at Molineux Stadium in their most recent league match. That point leaves Gary O’Neil’s side 13th in the table, after having collected 19 points from their first 16 matches of the campaign.
Taking a look at the match result odds and the hosts are the favourites to get the win, priced at 23/20 to do so. The draw is available at 5/2, while Wolves can be sided with at 13/5, implying a 28% chance of success.
West Ham vs Wolves Tips
West Ham have kept just one clean sheet in their last 16 matches which came against bottom of the table Sheffield United and I’m backing both sides to get on the scoresheet at The London Stadium on Sunday at 3/4 with BetMGM.
I’m surprised to see a price so big on offer considering these two teams have been excellent for both teams backers this season. In the 2023/24 campaign, only Brighton possess a higher BTTS ratio than Wolves and West Ham with both sides seeing it land in 13 of their 16 outings this year. With a 81% success rate I’d have this selection closer to the 8/13 region and I’m happy to have it on board once again for this clash.
At 9/1, I also like the look of Jarrod Bowen and Matheus Cunha to score. Bowen is the leading scorer for West Ham having bagged nine goals in 15 Premier League appearances since the beginning of the campaign; should he score against Wolves, he’d be the second-quickest Hammers player to 10 Premier League goals in a season, after John Hartson in 1997-98.
Matheus Cunha has scored or assisted in five consecutive league matches for Wolves. The Brazilian found the net against Forest on his most recent outing letting off five shots in the match. It’s now five league goals in total this season, with three of those coming in his last four. Combining him and Bowen both to score on Sunday pays 9/1 with BetMGM.
