Wales vs. Scotland Predictions: Back Scotland to win in Cardiff for the first time since 2002

It’s not often that Scotland come into a game in Cardiff as the actual favourites to win, but in fairness to Wales, it’s not often you see a team with as many injuries as they have.
Wales vs Scotland Predictions
This is the opening game of the weekend, with both sides coming in with opposite hopes. Scotland pulled off a great win over England last week, retaining the Calcutta Cup. Wales on the other hand, were outplayed in Dublin, and suffered a 29-7 loss. With France and Ireland facing off against each other on Saturday, there is the small chance that Scotland could actually top the table at the end of this weekend. As slight favourites for the game, they’ll be looking for their first win in Cardiff since 2002, and we’ve got two tips for you to look at before kick-off.
For the second week in a row, I’m backing the Scots to get another cracking win. You’d be forgiven for thinking that my allegiances lie with Gregor Townsend’s men, but fear not, I can confirm that they are strictly with the Irish. There are similarities between this year’s Scottish side and last year’s, not least the fact that in 2021’s edition of the Six Nations, Scotland came into their second game against Wales having beaten England first time out. A second-half Zander Ferguson red card eventually led to Wales’ 25-24 victory, but I don’t think the same will happen this time out.
Last year, the Scot’s led 17-8 at half-time before the Welshmen brought it back, but I think this time out they’ll be able to hang on and keep the victory until full-time. The 11/8 is a slightly bigger price than 6/5 available with Paddy Power, or 23/20 with Bet365.
Second up, I’ve gone for Scotland to win the game by 6-10 points. Following on from our first bet, I think Scotland should have enough to see them over the line, but Wales’ openness in defence against Ireland is what leads me towards this one. The Scot’s victory over England showed their quality, and I think the likes of Hogg, Russell and van Der Merwe should prove enough for them to win convincingly.
The price for Scotland to win by 6-10 is currently 5/1 with the likes of SkyBet and William Hill, so we’ll go with Paddy Power for the 11/2, which is also available with Betfair. Good luck if you’re following these bets, and please gamble responsibly.
