France vs. Ireland Predictions: Les Bleus to run out winners in a huge clash against Ireland

Like the bad smell that you just can’t get away, it’s your boy @petemarsden_ back with another glorious Six Nations preview. What a battle we have on our hands on Saturday afternoon, as the two favourites to win the title, France and Ireland, face off at the iconic Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
France vs Ireland Tips:
Whoever wins this game will be clear on their quest for the Championship, and the Grand Slam. Ireland come into the game off the back of a 29-7 win over Wales, but will be without veteran fly-half Johnny Sexton, who’s been ruled out with a hamstring injury. France host their second home game on the bounce after victory over Italy last weekend, and will be looking to make a mark with what will surely be a raucous French crowd, as they look for a first title since 2010. We’ll look ahead to the huge encounter, and provide two tips.
France vs Ireland Odds
First off, I’m looking for the French to hold the lead when we reach the 40 minute mark. France are the odds-on favourites coming into the game, and that position will only be strengthened with the news of Sexton missing the game for Ireland. Like most games between two in-form sides, I’m expecting a close encounter to start off, with France possibly looking to be more physical in defence.
Overall I expect France to come out on top in the game and competition as a whole, and the price of 11/5 looks an enticing one to start us off.
Next up, I’ve taken a look at the man of the match market. There were a few that caught my eye here, for example, the price of 33/1 for Gabin Villiere, which was tempting after his hat-trick and MOTM award against Italy last weekend.
But, I can’t look past World Rugby Men’s Player of the Year, Antoine Dupont. Dupont had a sensational 2021, with a European Champions Cup and Top-14 double with Toulouse, and captaining his country to their first win over New Zealand since 2009, and first at home since 2000. Dupont fired out a warning to his team-mates after a careless start against the Italians which saw them go behind, and I believe that fire to improve will lead him to starring on Saturday.
Good luck if you’re following these bets, and please remember to gamble responsibly.
