US Masters 2022 Odds: John Rahm heads the Augusta National betting
It's that time of year again when all eyes focus in on Augusta National for the 2022 US Masters. After a couple of years of disruption due to Covid, an Autumn Masters in 2020 followed by last year's event which didn't have patrons or a par-3 competition, it's business as usual this week and we've taken a look at the all important US Masters odds ahead of Thursday's start.
First off we take a look at the market leaders in the Masters betting with the five of the top six yet to lay their hands on a Green Jacket. Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Cameron Smith, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are amongst those favourites with the exception Dustin Johnson who won that Autumn Masters 18 months ago.
Masters Winning SP Odds
- 2021 - Hideki Matsuyama - 45/1
- 2020 - Dustin Johnson - 8/1
- 2019 - Tiger Woods - 14/1
- 2018 - Patrick Reed - 50/1
- 2017 - Sergio Garcia - 40/1

As you can see from the recent winners SP you're looking at fishing in the top 25 in the betting. Danny Willett and Bubba Watson were the biggest priced winners at 50/1 yet we've had a few who were short in the betting such as Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth.

Masters Form - last 5 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
5-7-9-4-27 | 9-55-17-21-10-3 | 3 | 7/8 |
Head of the betting is the recently usurped world number one Jon Rahm who has four straight top-10s at Augusta including two top-5s. Rahm is a quality player and winner of the US Open last year, his maiden major victory and although destined for many more you would have to think he's not showing enough form to warrant a price as short as he is this week.
Justin Thomas - 14/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
21-4-12-17-22-39 | 35-3-33-6-8 | 6 | 10/10 |
Justin Thomas is elite but it could be questioned whether he wins enough, which is strange to say of someone with 16 career wins. The American has made all 10 cuts this season including six top 10s but he's yet to really contend at Augusta in six visits. He's made the cut in every appearance and was 4th behind Dustin Johnson in 2020 but he's another at a short price given he's just the one major victory to his name.
Cam Smith - 16/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 5 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
10-2-51-5-55 | 1-33-4-mc-1 | 5 | 7/8 |
Cameron Smith is a man on fire currently which is one explanation for his short price this week. Two wins this year including a fine win of The Players Championship coupled together with some really strong course form at Augusta means he's well equipped to be the next cab off the rank in terms of picking up that first career major.
Scottie Scheffler - 16/1
Masters Form - last 2 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
18-19 | 1-55-1-7-1-20 | 6 | 11/12 |
THE in-form player in the world, Scottie Scheffler has three wins in his last five tournaments including last week in the WGC Dell Matchplay which propelled him to number one in the world. He's only had two looks at Augusta which might be a reason to oppose him this week, although both times he's played he's finished in the top 20. A serious player but well factored into his price.
Dustin Johnson - 16-1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-1-2-10-4-6 | 4-39-9-mc-8-25 | 1 | 4/5 |
The 2020 winner might be coming into form at the right time for this week. Semi finalist at the WGC Matchplay on his last start, he's just that one top 10 this year but only played five times. His form is top at Augusta, forgetting last year's missed cut he'd had five consecutive top-10s, three of which were top 5's culminating in that win. He's double the price he was in 2020 and will be on many a shortlist this week.
Rory McIlroy - 18/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-5-21-5-7-10 | mc-33-13-10-3-12 | 4 | 8/8 |
It's the time of year we start talking about the Rory slam, needing a win at Augusta to complete a career grand slam. Six top ten finishes in his last eight visits, can 2022 be the year Rory finally wins at Augusta? At 18/1 he might be worth a punt. Its been eight years since the last of his five major wins but he did pick up his last win on the PGA Tour before Christmas, as four top 10s this season and made eight out of eight cuts. McIlroy is sure to be a popular pick at the prices this week although he missed the cut in Texas last week.
Colin Morikawa - 20/1
Masters Form - last 2 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
18-44 | 9-68-mc-2-18-62 | 6 | 9/10 |
Colin Morikawa is only making his third appearance at Augusta National. The 25 year old already has two major championships to his name, adding the Open Championship to the USPGA to his CV last summer and he's been a model of consistency this season, with just one missed cut from 10 tournaments and six top-10s in that period.
Jordan Spieth - 20/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
3-46-21-3-11-2 | 35-35-mc-26-60-2 | 1 | 6/8 |
Jordan Spieth is a short price this week, the American has an affinity with Augusta and the bookmakers clearly like to have him on side in the betting. A winner of the Masters in 2015, he's been runner up twice here and third place twice in just eight visits. His two worse finishes came in 2019 and 2020 (21, 46) when he was having a bad time with his game so it was telling that he could still put in four good scores around here.
Brooks Koepka - 20/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-7-2-11-21-33 | 5-12-mc-16-mc-3 | 2 | 7/12 |
Injury has meant that in the last couple of years the dependable Brooks Koepka has become somewhat inconsistent. Just two top 10s from 12 tournaments this year and five missed cuts, the four-time major winner looks short enough at odds of 20/1. He showed glimpses reaching the quarter-finals of the WGC a couple of weeks ago and will be looking to go one better than his T2 here in 2019.
Viktor Hovland - 20/1
Masters Form - last 2 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
21-32 | 18-33-9-2-4-mc | 7 | 12/13 |
Viktor Hovland is teeing it up for only the third time in the Masters this week, looking to continue his positive curve here having finished 32nd on debut then 21st last year. He's in the form of his life having had seven top 10's this season including two victories and three top10's in his last five starts. Whether Augusta is his course time will tell but he's a shoe in to pick up a major at some point in his career.
Xander Schauffele - 22-1
Masters Form - last 4 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
3-17-2-50 | 35-12-mc-13-3-18 | 2 | 9/10 |
The Olympic champion is likely to go under the radar this week. He's very consistent and has made the cut in all but one of his 10 starts this season but has been unable to convert that play into any wins and just two top 10s. He's unassuming and gets about his business quietly and has two top 5s here in his last three starts. He's pretty short in the betting given he struggles to convert to Ws.
Patrick Cantlay - 25/1
Masters Form - last 4 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-17-9-mc | 26-mc-33-2-4-9 | 4 | 5/6 |
At 25/1 Patrick Cantlay could be a popular each-way play this week. His recent form has dropped off a bit which means you're getting a few points bigger at the odds than you would have done a couple of months ago. He's missed the cut twice in five visits here but there's a 9th place finish here in 2019 and 17th in 2020 which suggests he can handle the course. Four top 10s this season, albeit a bit earlier in the year he's a major player searching for his first green jacket.
Bryson DeChambeau - 33-1
Masters Form - last 5 | Recent Form - last 5 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
46-34-29-38-21 | mc-58-wd-mc--25 | 0 | 2/3 |
Beware the injured golfer. Bryson hasn't played much golf this season due to injury and he's yet to show much form since coming back, knocked out after two matches in the Dell Matchplay, he's bound to be rusty and although he's a big price here on best form, he's not yet mastered Augusta even though he famously claimed it played like a par-67 to him. He missed the cut last week in Texas shooting +5.
Will Zalatoris - 40/1
Masters Form - last 1 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
2 | 5-26-38-26-2-6 | 2 | 8/10 |
Sneaking into this section is Will Zalatoris who challenged so well here as a rookie 12 months ago. The 25 year old finished second on debut here last year, a supreme ball striker it's difficult to see him performing quite as well here this week and the short game/putter would be of a concern. He's been in good nick on the PGA Tour this season though and looks like he's going to be around for years to come.
Daniel Berger - 40/1
Masters Form - last 4 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
MC-32-27-10 | 35-13-4-mc-20-5 | 3 | 5/6 |
Daniel Berger tops the third batch of players. He's very consistent and with a solitary top 10 on debut here.
Hideki Matsuyama - 40/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
1-13-32-19-11-7 | 20-39-8-30-1-13 | 5 | 11/11 |
Last season's winner could be an injury risk having withdrawn from the Valero Texas Open last week. Five top 10s and 11 straight cuts made, he'd be a contender here if fit but the betting looks to have factored his injury.
Louis Oosthuizen - 40/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 5 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
26-23-29-12-41-15 | 35-62-42-30-14 | 0 | 6/7 |
Very consistent around Augusta, Oosthuizen was unlucky to lose in a play-off to Bubba Watson here back in 2012. he clearly likes the course but hasn't really hit the frame here since that narrow miss.
Sam Burns - 40/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
Debut | 1-26-9-mc-mc-mc | 6 | 9/12 |
Debutants don't have a good record at Augusta in terms of winning but Sam Burns comes here in good form having won on his last start and six top10s this season.
Matt Fitzpatrick - 50-1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
34-46-21-38-32-7 | 18-5-mc-9-10-6 | 4 | 7/8 |
Another consistent player who has been playing well this year with four top 10s in his last six starts and yet to miss the cut at Augusta including a best placed 7th. At the odds he looks a decent each-way play.
Tiger Woods - 50/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
38-1-32-17-4-40 | - | - | - |
Will he play or won't he? The GOAT.
Corey Conners - 55/1
Masters Form - last 4 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
8-9-46-mc | 35-3-26-11-mc-38 | 0 | 8/11 |
Excellent ball-striker and putter, he's finished in the top 10 here the last two years and seems primed now to have a run at the majors. Each way play.
Adam Scott - 55/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
54-34-18-32-9-42 | 9-mc-26-4-38-9 | 4 | 9/10 |
The Aussie Adam Scott absolutely loves it around Augusta, the winner in 2013, remains his only major win but he's had four top 10s in his last 12 visits and in decent nick this year with four top 10s and just the one missed cut. Could be a player at a big price this week.
Shane Lowry - 50/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
21-25-mc-mc-39-mc | 35-12-13-2-14-24 | 1 | 7/9 |
The 2019 Open Champion has a modest record at Augusta which he's yet to really get to grips with.
Joaquim Niemann - 55/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
40-mc | 35-22-mc-1-8-6 | 4 | 8/11 |
The Chilean Joaquin Niemann is a winner on tour this season and has another three top 10s to his name. 40th last year after missing the cut on debut.
Tyrrell Hatton - 60/1
Masters Form - last 5 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
18-mc-56-44-mc | 9-21-13-2-28-4 | 4 | 8/9 |
A career best 18th last season here for Tyrrell Hatton who has really struggled at Augusta. Whether he has the temperament to go deep here on these greens I don't know, but playing good golf again this season with four top 10s and just the one missed cut.
Sung-jae Im - 66/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-2 | 35-55-20-mc-33-6 | 4 | 11/13 |
Burst onto the scene with a second place here behind Dustin Johnson 18 months ago but failed to back that up missing the cut last year. Another four top tens made this year he has the game to go well here at a big price.
Tony Finau - 66-1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
10-38-5-10 | 29-35-mc-33-mc-28 | 1 | 6/10 |
Tony Finau's form has fallen off a cliff somewhat hence his price here at a course where he's finished in the top 10 in three of his four starts.
Paul Casey - 66/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
26-38-mc-15-6-4 | 60-3-72-15-24-12 | 2 | 6/7 |
Casey has plenty of experience around here and still playing good golf with two top 10s and just the one missed cut. His chances may have passed him by when finishing 6-4-6 in 2015,16 and 17.
Tommy Fleetwood - 70-1
Masters Form - last 5 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
46-19-36-17-mc | 35-16-22-20-mc-8 | 1 | 8/9 |
Tommy Fleetwood's form has fallen away over the last 12 months or so which is why he's a big price here. Yet to really spark it up this season or at Augusta in five visits.
Marc Leishman - 80/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
5-13-49-9-43-mc | 35-mc-68-15-28-16 | 3 | 10/11 |
The Australian looks a big price for each-way backers given his love for Augusta. The course really sets up well for Leishman who has three top 10s here and he's been in good enough form this season with three top 10s and just the solitary missed cut to keep me interested in his chances this week.
Justin Rose - 80/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
7-23-mc-12-2-10 | 26-mc-mc-62-6-33 | 2 | 7/9 |
Another player with some good historic form at the course. Justin Rose had four top 10s including two second place finishes between 2012 and 2017 and although he's lost a lot of his consistency in recent years he'll have placed at many firms last year when finishing second. There's enough from this season's form to suggest he can get in the each-way mix here in 2022.
Sergio Garcia - 80/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-mc-mc-1-34-17 | 35-16-22-20-mc-8 | 1 | 6/7 |
Since winning his one and only major tournament here in 2017 he's missed three consecutive cuts. He's a really big price considering he's still playing decent golf and if he can shake off the missed cut hoodoo could feature again here.
Billy Horschel - 90/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
50-38-56-mc-17-mc | 9-wd-2-16-6-11 | 2 | 8/8 |
Billy Horschel is in the form of his life but he's yet to light it up around Augusta with a 17th place his best finish here. He's priced up as such though and given his two top 10s in his last three starts plus coming off the back of a 2021 which contained wins at the WGC Dell Matchplay and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, he could go well at a big price.
Max Homa - 125/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
mc-mc | 35-13-17-10-14-mc | 2 | 8/10 |
Two missed cuts doesn't read well for Max Homa in his two visits to Augusta but the Californian has some correlating course form with wins at Riviera Club and Quail Hollow. His game should be suited to this test and can have a breakout major at a big old price.
Gary Woodland - 125/1
Masters Form - last 6 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
40-mc-32-mc-mc-mc | 8-21-mc-5-5-mc | 4 | 5/11 |
The 2019 US Open champion is a big price here coming off four top 10s this season and an 8th in Texas last week, but he clearly struggles around Augusta with four missed cuts in his last six visits and a best finish of 32.
Robert MacIntyre - 125/1
Masters Form - last 1 | Recent Form - last 6 | Season Top 10's | Season Cuts Made |
---|---|---|---|
12 | 35-35-15-9-13-mc | 1 | 3/5 |
The Scotsman finished a credible 12th on debut here last season. He's not played a huge amount of golf this season but has shown glimpses of form and lefty's go well at Augusta, with the likes of Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Mike Weir all winning here in recent history.
Lee Westwood - 150/1

Finally we can't leave an odds piece for the Masters without giving a nod to the great Lee Westwood. The English veteran has gone close here a number of times and although he's playing okay this year he's a big price to repeat his 2nd in behind Danny Willett in 2016, his second runner up finish in the Masters.
