Some might have been hoping for a week off after the rollercoaster four days at Augusta National, but a designated PGA Tour event will see many tee it up at Harbour Town.
The links course measures in at 7,191 yards and the tournament prize fund amounts to $20million, with the winner receiving over $3.5million.
Green Jacket winner Scottie Scheffler is set to take his place in the 69-man field, although it remains to be seen whether he will finish the tournament.
The world number one commented last week that he would have left the Masters if his wife would have gone into labour with their first child. A week on, it looks more likely that may happen at the RBC Heritage.
Matt Fitzpatrick is the defending champion, after his play-off success 12 months ago, with the Englishman looking to build on his T22 finish at Augusta last week.
RBC Heritage Tips
Rounds of 70-73-72-73 saw Cameron Young finish in the top-10 at the Masters, without really ever threatening to win.
The 26-year-old has now secured top-10 spots in five of his last eight appearances in the Majors, but he is still looking for his first PGA Tour title.
His good showing at Augusta came off the back of a second-placed finish at the Valspar Championship last month.
Young finished T51 in this tournament last year – with four sub 72 rounds – and challenged for the title in 2022, when ending the event T3.
The New Yorker started the tournament two years ago with a 63 and a flying start this time around could well see him end his wait for PGA Tour success.
Success on the greens will be crucial to Young’s chances. He currently sits inside the top-30 on Tour for driving, approach to the green and greens in regulation, but is ranked 115th for putting.
The Masters will have taken a lot out of the players who battled it out at the top of the leaderboard, especially with the weather disruption over the first couple of days.
One man who had a decent finish at Augusta and will look to back that up at Harbour Town is JT Poston.
The 30-year-old lives in Sea Island, Georgia, so will have done less travelling than the majority of the field for this week’s tournament.
His T30 finish at Augusta was his best result to date in a Major in 13 appearances, with Poston carding a final round two-under-par 70.
The two-time PGA Tour title winner has shown some good signs this year, with three top-10s and two top-20 finishes to his name and just one missed cut in 2024.
Poston missed the cut by a shot at the RBC Heritage last year, but has had good performances on this links course prior to that.
The Postman finished tied-third in 2022, with a final-round 64 seeing him finish just one shot behind the eventual winner – Jordan Spieth.
