New Zealand vs. Ireland Odds: Back the All Blacks to reign supreme at Eden Park on Saturday

The first international of the weekend sees Ireland start their three-match Test series in New Zealand, kicking off at 8:05am GMT. The Tour is Ireland’s first since a 2-1 series win over Australia back in 2018, as they prepare to create history, looking for a first ever win on New Zealand soil.
New Zealand vs Ireland Tips
The task is simple on paper for Ireland. Win one game in New Zealand, go down in history. Win the series, go down in history. Since their last Tour there in 2012, the Irish have finally beaten the All Blacks for the first time, and have since extended that record to three wins, including a victory last time out in November.
Ireland have five uncapped players in their squad, which is still packed with plenty of experience, featuring the likes of Johnny Sexton, Cian Healy, Tadhg Furlong and Bundee Aki to name a few. With both sides starting their preparations for next year’s World Cup, we’ve previewed the first Test, and picked out two tips that have caught our eye.
First off, it’s hard finding value if you’re an Irish supporter at the time of writing. New Zealand are heavy favourites at odds-on to win on Saturday, and a lot of the other markets reflect that.
However, history shows that Ireland have won three of the last five meetings between these two sides, and Andy Farrell is building a steady force to the World Cup. Expect the All Blacks to come out with the Eden Park crowd right behind them, possibly grabbing an early penalty.
But, if the game goes as I expect/hope, I imagine Ireland will come right back into it, possibly with an early try of their own, or knocking over a few penalties. Overall, I think the home side will have too much for the tourists on Saturday, but Ireland are certainly no pushovers, and the 12/5 with 10bet looks a good price in our hunt for value.
Leading on from our first bet, despite Ireland holding their own for a time, I suspect a home All Blacks side will have too much for them. For what it’s worth, I think Ireland will create history during this Tour, and I think they will be able to win a Test, but I don’t think that comes on Saturday.
Both of New Zealand’s last two wins against the Irish have seen this bet land, and although the last of those was three years ago in Japan, it’s hard to look past anything other than a handsome home win. New Zealand’s last three games at Eden Park have seen the home side win convincingly.
Best of luck if you’re following either of these bets, and please remember to gamble responsibly.
