Australia vs. England Odds: Misery in Perth for Eddie Jones' return to Australia

Australia and England, be it rugby or cricket, is an international rivalry that stands the test of time. There seems to be great respect between the two nations when it comes to everyday life, but as soon as sport enters the fray, the passion tends to boil over the top.
Australia vs England Tips
England travel down under for the first time since 2016, as they are set to play three Tests in the warm up for the 2023 World Cup. Coming off the back of a convincing defeat to the Barbarians, coach Eddie Jones remains committed to a more open, attacking style of play. England fans may be worried after the Baa-Baas scored some sensational tries last time out, but the fact remains that Jones’ men did complete a 3-0 whitewash on their last Tour of Australia.
10 players who featured on that Tour are in the squad again, with Billy Vunipola and Danny Care notably being brought back into the fray. Jones has expressed his desire to stick with the combination of Marcus Smith and Owen Farrell at 10 and 12, who have only played together in those positions once, during England’s 32-15 win over the Aussies in November.
Australian fly half Quade Cooper has recently defended his relationship with Marcus Smith, as it came out that the two have been speaking, in order to help each other’s games grow. Cooper will be reunited with Eddie Jones, who gave him his debut for the Queensland Reds in 2007. Wallabies coach Dave Rennie has heaped praise on England in recent days, and expects a much tougher task at hand despite the English loss to Barbarians.
As ever, we’ve looked ahead to the game, and picked out two tips that we like the look of.
This line has landed in England’s last two competitive internationals, and if we include their match against the Barbarians, then it’s landed in two of their last three games. With the history and the rivalry on offer, and given it’s England’s first Tour of Australia since 2016, expect a very fast start from the home side, with the Perth crowd looking to add to the pressure on the tourists.
Furthermore, this line has also landed in each of Australia’s last two internationals, coming against Wales and England in the Autumn. Expect fireworks on Saturday morning as these old foes clash once again.
This second selection is going with Australia to win by 6-10 points, which is available at a best price of 11/2 with Betfair. England will be looking for a response after their trouncing last time out, and are currently on a run of three defeats on the bounce. Australia are also coming into this game on the exact same run, although they haven’t played an international since 2021.
Before their tour of the Northern Hemisphere late last year, they were however on a decent run of four competitive wins in a row, beating South Africa and Argentina twice during the Rugby Championship.
The manner of England’s defeats is what concerns me, with three convincing losses in a row, I’m expecting the home side to power into a decent lead in the second half, with England staging a fight-back late on, to no avail.
Good luck if you’re following these bets, and please gamble responsibly.
