Masters Props Tips: Top up on DeChambeau in the same game multi betting

If you're a regular follower of BettingOdds.com you'll know we love a 'Same Game Multi' on our football bets. I've had a close look at Betfair's #OddsOnThat market and come up with three plays for the Masters this week surrounding some of the best players that I'm hopeful will give you an interest through all four days at some big prices.

There's been a hell of a lot of talk about Bryson DeChambeau coming into this week's Masters following the American's win in the US Open in September. The marmite character heads the betting this week in the outright market and whilst I've faded him in my winner bets this week, I like a couple of props involving the 27-year-old who is polarising opinion in the golfing world.
If you've not been following golf closely this year, DeChambeau used the downtime during lockdown to bulk up adding 20lbs to his physique and 40 yards to his game, making him the longest hitter in the sport, smashing the ball out an average of 344 yards, a staggering 46 yards further than the PGA Tour average!!
What does that mean for the betting? Well, if he can keep his drives in-play, and the fact that there are no crowds, or 'patrons' as they get referred to at the Masters, means Bryson will be able to bomb it into some areas that previously would have patrons in and in theory open up the course even more. If he's averaging 344 yards off the tee this week he'll be playing a lot of wedges into greens and that means an increased chance of getting birdies and eagles.
With that in mind, my eyes were drawn this this prop in the #OddsOnThat market at Betfair. Bryson Dechambeau to have 4 or more eagles in the tournament at odds of 15/2.
Eagles are going to be a bit of a theme throughout these tips and with four par-5's at Augusta that are easily reachable in two shots for a player like DeChambeau, he's going to get 16 looks at eagle this week providing he makes the cut. There's also a chance he'll be hitting some greens in one and putting for eagle and he ranks 12th on the PGA Tour for par five eagles last season.
If you want to find out more about DeChambeau, the brilliant Kevin Clark wrote about him in his column for The Ringer.
I think that the 15/2 is a big enough price to have a small interest that should hopefully last all the way around to the 15th hole on Sunday.
Keeping with the eagles theme, I've taken some of the 30/1 available on Jon Rahm, Louis Oosthuizen and Dustin Johnson to get all get two or more eagles this week.
Very much with the same reasoning as above, there's going to be 16 opportunities for these guys should they make the cut this week.
Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm are second and third favourites respectively this week and although they're not in the same postcode as Bryson when it comes to driving distance (who is?), they both smash it over over 307 yards. Opportunities for eagle should come at the par 5's and Rahm in particular has profited at Augusta, bagging 5 eagles on his three starts at the course and successfully having two on his last two starts.
Johnson is in the form of his life and ranked second on the PGA Tour last season (season finished in September) for par 5 eagles with 13 from his 49 rounds.
Louis Oosthuizen is the potential weakest link from the three but he's sneaky long and has a strong record at Augusta, with six top 30 finishes in his last eight visits, including a play-off defeat when finishing second behind Bubba Watson in 2012.
The South African ranks third for total eagles on the PGA Tour this season and famously shot an albatross on the second hole of his final round in 2012, scoring a two on a par 5. This did get me to wondering if he was to repeat that feat would that count as two eagles, with the Americans referring to an albatross as a 'double eagle'? Let's worry about that if it happens :-)
My last prop tip comes in the form of Tyrrell Hatton to be top English player, Hideki Matsuyama to be top rest of the world and Bernard Langer to be the top senior at odds of 80/1.
Hatton heads the betting in the top Englishman betting at 3/1 ahead of the likes of Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose. The 29-year-old says he's never come into a Masters playing so well and has recorded wins on both sides of the Atlantic this season which has elevated him into the top ten in the world.
Hideki Matsuyama is one of my picks in the outright betting this week and he's up against the likes of Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott in the top rest of the world market. It goes without saying I like him in that market as well at 9/2, he's hitting the ball so well and has a two top tens and a further three top 35 finishes at Augusta in his last five starts.
Finally Bernhard Langer is another course specialist. Second favourite in the top senior market at 5/1, the German loves it here having won two Green Jackets and in what looks a pretty uncompetitive market, he's still smashing it on the seniors tour where he's had six top tens in his last eight starts on the Champions Tour and finished 8th here as recent as 2014. He's up against 8/13 chance Phil Mickelson here, who despite overpowering the Champions Tour I'm banking on him blowing cold like he did in Houston last week where he missed the cut.
Fingers crossed if you get involved this week and here's to a fun Masters!
