Love Island Odds: Latest betting update for summer series
And away we go! Love Island series 10 kicked off last week and with seven days' worth of content absorbed by the vid fans of the series, it's time to assess what the bookmakers think of the contestants. There's been plenty of toing and froing from couples and here we take our weekly look at what went down in the villa over the past seven days...
Well well well... Did ANYONE see that one coming?! Seasoned Love Island veterans will of course now be used to ex-islanders returning after Adam Collard hit the nostalgia button and appeared in Season 9, so although fans were delighted to see the iconic Kady McDermott return, there wasn't too much shock on social media.
What did cause a shock however was the twist Kady's entrance brought. The two-time Islander had only been in the villa a matter of hours when the dreaded text came through announcing she must choose a boy to recouple with. Having miniscule knowledge of the lads she had to go off initial attraction and plumped for smooth talker Zachariah, thus leaving Top Female favourite Molly single.
Okay, we all thought, Molly is now vulnerable until the next male bombshell comes in and chooses her to keep her Love Island journey going. Wrong! Molly received a text and the collective jaw of the nation dropped as she read out the stunning sentence 'You have been dumped from the villa'. If we at home watching on TV were shocked, the way her fellow islanders reacted was akin to how most people would react to seeing a friend spontaneously combust in the middle of the pub. (Watch the video below from 4mins 24sec)
The dust has begun to settle after Molly's exit and, lo and behold, despite their "unique connection"... Zac has chosen to continue in the villa. We're sure it's all to do with wanting to get to know Kady and nothing to do with the fact he has the chance for a few more nights' screen time with one of the most iconic islanders of all time. He will definitely head straight for Molly when he leaves Love Island. Almost definitely anyway.
Those two are very new together but one couple that have been paired from the get-go is semi-pro footballer Tyrique and model Ella. The trouble with this pair is Tyrique cannot decide if he really likes Ella or really likes the freedom to chase every new bombshell. His partner is a stereotypically grumpy Scot but she has good reason to be displeased in this case and after Tyrique confessed he was 'missing the game', they look destined for failure.
Mehdi and Whitney are a surprise package, slow burners from different worlds but seemingly building something great. That was until the Sunday night preview showed on Monday's episode they will be at the centre of another heated argument. Mitchel is still deludedly confident in his ability to bag any woman in the villa despite precisely zero of them showing any interest in him, while Jess still longs for Sammy who is partnered with bombshell Mal.
Catherine has grown on viewers and after starting the show as the outsider in the top female, she and new flame Scott are third favourites behind the crazily short 2/1 favourites of Tyrique and Ella. Whitney and Mehdi come next in the odds, with Jess and Mitchel close behind. We can't see them lasting after a start deep in the friend zone, but who knows?
This looks like one of the most open Love Island series yet and we would be urging viewers and punters to avoid the short-priced favourites and find some value elsewhere. If by some miracle Tyrique stays loyal to Ella until Casa Amor, there is no chance he doesn't wander when presented with six new girls. Even if she doesn't stick with Mehdi, Whitney has gained plenty of fans and could be a solid pick for the top female market at this stage.
