Ireland vs. Italy Predictions: Expect Irish dominance on Sunday.

We come to the final game of the third weekend of Six Nations action, with Ireland hosting Italy at the Aviva Stadium.

Ireland come into the game as huge favourites, priced at 1/1000 with some bookmakers, which makes sense considering Italy haven’t won a game in this tournament since 2015. It would take a herculean effort for the Italians to win on Sunday, which shows why they’re as big as 80/1 to end their turgid record. As ever, we’ve put together two tips for the showdown.

First off, we’ll look at the first half to have the most tries in. This is a bigger price compared to the second half (5/6), and as previously mentioned, the fact that Ireland are so short makes it harder to find something appealing. This bet landed in Italy’s last game, with England crossing the line three times in the first half, compared to two in the second. Expect Ireland to come out all guns blazing in front of their home crowd, and to put on a show early on.

Second up, we’ve got Ireland to win by 31-40 points. Last time out, Italy lost 33-0 to England, and I expect more of the same to happen here. Ireland will ultimately have too much for Italy, who also lost by 27 points to France, and I reckon the Irish will put on a show for their home crowd.
