England vs South Africa Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Hosts bid to bounce back against Springboks

England will hope it's third time lucky when they face South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday evening, live on TNT Sports 1 at 5:40pm.

England have already suffered two heartbreaking late defeats at home to New Zealand and Australia, and now face a tough task to reverse this losing streak against the World Cup holders.

England will be cursing their luck after George Ford missed a last-gasp drop goal attempt that would have won the game against New Zealand, then they succumbed to a thrilling 37-42 defeat to Australia after the visitors scored a try in the final second.

They must now dust themselves down and recoup as they have the small matter of facing South Africa on Saturday in what will no doubt be a bruising battle.

The Springboks scored four tries en route to beating Scotland 32-15 at Murrayfield last week, which came after September's 48-7 win over Argentina, a result that secured the 2024 Rugby Championship. 

They've won their last two matches against England, and three of the last four - including World Cup final and semi-final wins - making it difficult to look past the visitors claiming another triumph on this occasion.

However, England will make a real go of it. They led both Australia and New Zealand, as well as South Africa with 10 minutes to go in last year's World Cup semi-final, only to lose all three games.

With that said, South Africa to score last looks like the way to go at 4/6, giving us more appealing odds than the short 4/11 on the visitors to win.

I've also backed South Africa at 11/2 to win by 1-5 points. England lost by two points to New Zealand and five points against Australia, while South Africa edged the last encounter between the teams 16-15.
