Andalucia Masters Betting Tips: Jamie Broadhurst's each-way selections in Spain

The DP World Tour rolls on with the Andalucia Masters this week and Jamie Broadhurst returns with four each-way selections ranging from 30/1 to 66/1.
Estrella Damm Andalucia Masters
The Andalucia Masters was established in 2010 and has traditionally been played at Valderrama Club, but since the LIV Golf Tour has claimed Valderrama on their schedule, this meant that the 2022 version of the Andalucia Masters was unfortunately the last to be played at Valderrama. Therefore, this means that we are presented with a new venue this week in the form of the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
Real Club de Golf Sotogrande
- Par 72
- 7099 yards
- Robert Trent Jones original design, 1964
- Rulewich & Fleury Restoration in 2016
- 4 x Par 3s - ranging from 179 – 221 yards
- 10 x Par 4s – ranging from 356 – 470 yards
- 4 x Par 5s - ranging from 528 – 594 yards
A completely different style and set up this week than what viewers are used to seeing when it comes to Valderrama where we normally are for the Andalucia Masters. Valderrama is an extremely tight course with plenty of tree protection and tiny greens, we have seen scores as high as +4 win at Valderrama previously it is that difficult.
However, this week the scores should not be as high as that. We have huge, wide-open fairways with the odd Pine tree on its perimeters. Drivable Par 4s, short Par 4s and all four Par 5s easily reachable in two for the whole field. Very much a second shot golf course, as most of the greens since the 2016 renovation have been reduced in size significantly on some holes and have been stuck on top of plateaus. So, finding them with good iron play is a must this week if the guys want to achieve plenty of Birdies/Eagles.
The main defences of Real Club de Sotogrande come via two ways. The large man-made lakes that meander throughout the course that feature on roughly 12 of these holes means that players will have to edge on the side of caution when choosing shot choices/shapes. The second being the wind. The course is very exposed to the elements and with it being situated very close to the coast line of Sotogrande, means the wind will be coming in a lot stronger than on a normal track. Gusts this week are anything ranging from 15-40km/h this week with the calmest day being Championship Sunday, so players will really need to grind in the wind to set them up to have a big finish at the end of the week.
Previous Andalucia Masters Champions
2022 – Adrian Oteagui -19
2021 – Matt Fitzpatrick -6
2020 – John Catlin +4
2019 – Christiaan Bezuidenhout -10
2018 – Sergio Garcia -12
As said above, these winners all came when the tournament was at the Valderrama Club and I would usually go through the stats of these winners from that week. However, with the contrast of courses we have this week I do not see much point in going into too much detail around stats this week and have kept it nice and simple.
Strokes Gained Off the Tee -
With wide open fairways this week, driving shouldn’t be an issue for any of the professionals, but I still want someone who will consistently drive it powerfully and put it in the right places on these fairways to give them the best chance of hitting these tiny greens.
Strokes Gained Approach/Greens in Regulation -
Small greens are the theme of this week, therefore we need consistent and solid ball strikers that turn up week in week out the Tour to make sure they are found in regulation regularly.

Selections for the Andalucia Masters
Four picks for you all this week again! All 1.25pts each-way in the 8 places market on Bet365, good luck all! Let’s keep the profit rolling.
Joost Luiten 30/1
Recent Form – 20-WD-14-12-5
Joost is in some really consistent form of late and can look to continue it here this week. The WD two starts ago can be ignored as it was at the rain affected Alfred Dunhill Links where the tournament ran into late Monday evening so a lot of players had the same idea as Joost. The Dutchman is as accurate as they come with his irons consistently being his best attribute every season, ranking 15th this season for Strokes Gained Approach and 13th for Greens in Regulation. He is a true journeyman of the Tour but is finding some form for sure!
Romain Langasque 30/1
Recent Form – 9-WD-14-23-32
The Frenchman is back on my selections this week as he really impressed me on his way to a 9th place finish last week, to just finish outside the places by one shot. He opens up at the same price as last week so it was a must I took him for sure. He is usually quite wayward off the tee so should be fine here with these fairways and he is a birdie machine, I really like him again this week here in Spain.
Calum Hill 55/1
Recent Form – 47-25-10-51-23
Mr. Wiggle himself. Calum missed part of the start of the season or certainly wasn’t his best due to a back injury which has seemed to have healed looking at some of his really impressive rounds of late. A 10th place finish at a tricky Wentworth Course at the BMW PGA Championship has been the highlight lately for him. He drives it well, long irons are spot on and actually ranks top-10 for putting on Tour this year where he ranks 4th on Tour for Birdie Average, I quite like Hill this week, especially at the number in the market he is at.
Sebastien Soderberg 66/1
Recent Form – 41-5-64-54-24
A guy that really should have won the Andalucia Masters two years ago when he was leading by six shots heading into the last round over Matt Fitzpatrick. Soderberg has had a couple of top ten finishes in Spain and relishes a course that requires a good Approach game, he ranks in the top-45 for every single Strokes Gained category and had a 5th place finish two starts ago in Scotland where he impressed me in his final round, chance the big Swede at 66/1 this week!
