Women's Super League Top Goalscorer 2023/24 Odds: Featuring Sam Kerr, Khadija Shaw and Rachel Daly

We've had to wait a while, but the Women's Super League finally returns on Sunday, with all 12 teams in action on the opening day of the 2023/24 season.
Here at BettingOdds.com we've already previewed the WSL title contenders, now we look at the names in the frame to win the coveted Golden Boot, which was impressively claimed by Rachel Daly last term.
WSL Golden Boot Tips
Sam Kerr: 15/8
Sam Kerr is the early name at the top of the betting, which is no surprise given that she has accumulated 54 WSL goals in just 67 games.
Kerr's tallies of 21 and 20 goals saw her win back-to-back Golden Boot awards in 2020/21 and 2021/22, but the Aussie had to settle for fourth in the standings last term with 12 goals, although it's worth noting that she accrued 29 goals in 38 games across all competitions, which included the winner in the FA Cup final.
Kerr will be determined to reclaim the Golden Boot and will fancy her chances of doing so in a Chelsea side that will once again be bang in the mix for all honours.
Khadija Shaw: 2/1
Hot on Kerr's goalscoring heels is the prolific Khadija "Bunny" Shaw at 2/1.
The Jamaican, who has a staggering 55 goals in 41 games for her country, enjoyed a sensational 2022/23 campaign at Man City where she fired in 31 goals in 30 matches across the board, including 20 goals in 22 WSL games - only Golden Boot winner Daly scored more.
In her last four seasons, at Bordeaux and Man City, she's netted 61 goals in 74 league games. Big, big numbers.
The goal magnet's quest for individual honours will be aided by England stars Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly whose creativity and vision will no doubt result in a boatload of chances for the Jamaican.
Rachel Daly: 6/1
What a cracking season it proved to be for Rachel Daly who cannoned home a record-breaking 22 WSL goals, a feat made even more impressive due to the fact she doesn't play for one of the title contenders.
If the Aston Villa striker can continue where she left off then 6/1 looks like a big price to reclaim the Golden Boot.
Vivianne Miedema: 13/2
Vivianne Miedema was one of three high-profile Arsenal players to suffer a devastating ACL injury last season.
The Dutch striker played all of eight 2022/23 WSL matches - scoring four goals - and heartbreakingly had to miss the World Cup.
On a more positive note, the 27-year-old is back in training and reportedly ready to be called upon, although she's unlikely to be rushed back into the fold.
After suffering such a bad injury, bookmakers are a little cautious at 13/2, however, if she begins to fire again expect her to be right up there in the goal charts.
After all, this is the Women's Super League all-time top scorer and two-time Golden Boot winner that we're talking about.
Alessia Russo: 11/1
One of the most high-profile switches of the summer saw Alessia Russo trade Man Utd for Arsenal on a free.
The 24-year-old returned a WSL double-figure haul for the first time last season, having scored nine league goals in 2021/22, while she is averaging a goal every other game for England.
With Arsenal likely to opt for a patient approach when it comes to Miedema's return, Russo has the opportunity to stamp her mark early doors.
Beth England: 12/1
Beth England could well attract interest at 12/1, given her form last term.
Like England teammate Rachel Daly, she doesn't play for one of the top clubs but that didn't stop her from enjoying a stunning streak in front of goal for Tottenham.
Following her New Year's switch from Chelsea, the striker hammered homed 12 goals in 12 WSL games, meaning she's now accumulated 45 goals in 99 WSL matches since 2016.
Beth Mead: 20/1
We all know how great a goalscorer Beth Mead is, but similarly to teammate Miedema, the Lionesses star will be making small steps back from a crushing ACL injury that ruled her out of the World Cup.
Geyse da Silva Ferreira: 22/1
Man Utd have turned to Geyse da Silva Ferreira as the replacement for Russo.
The Brazilian has joined from Barcelona, where last season she won the league, Champions League, and Super Cup.
Leah Galton: 66/1
Geyse da Silva Ferreira will look to form a strong partnership with Leah Galton, 66/1, who finished joint-fifth in the goalscoring charts last season with 10 goals in 20 matches.
Lauren James: 80/1
Of the outsiders, Lauren James appeals at 80/1.
The talented 22-year-old notched five goals en route to helping Chelsea win the league, a tally that she's expected to enhance somewhat this season.
James, who was named the 2023 PFA Young Player of the Year, made a statement in more ways than one during the World Cup, scoring three goals and assisting three more in five games.
