The Women’s Super League is the highest division in English women’s football. As the league’s appeal grows, so too does women’s football betting.
This page covers all you need to know about WSL betting, including the best women’s football betting sites and the betting markets at your disposal. So, if you’ve come to learn more about how to bet on the WSL, you’re in the right place.
Women’s Super League 2023/24 Betting Odds
The 2023/24 Women’s Super League kicks off on October 1 and runs until May 18. We’ll be bringing you updates from every round of WSL fixtures, providing expert advice on the top betting markets and outright odds throughout the course of the season. Let’s take a look at the league in more detail.
WSL Teams
The following 12 teams will compete in the WSL for the 23/24 season: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton, Bristol City, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Tottenham and West Ham.
Chelsea are the WSL’s reigning champions, winning their sixth title in 22/23. Bristol City won their first ever league title in their promotion from the Championship last season, replacing Reading in the WSL.
WSL Winner Odds
Having won the last four titles, it’s no surprise to see Chelsea as the current outright favourites to win the WSL and retain their crown. Their attack is spearheaded by Australian Sam Kerr, who’s widely regarded as the best striker in the women’s game. Other star players include Lionesses Millie Bright, Fran Kirby and Lauren James.
Arsenal are the second-most successful team in WSL history with three league titles. They were the last team to interrupt Chelsea’s dominance, winning the division in 2018/19. Lionesses captain Leah Williamson is joined at Arsenal by her England teammates Alessia Russo – who’s just signed from Man United – and Beth Mead. Dutch striker Vivienne Miedema is another key player, with 126 goals in 110 league games for the Gunners.
Although Man United only lost out to the champions Chelsea by two points last season, WSL winner odds are longer on them to challenge for the title in 23/24. That’s in large part due to the departure of talismanic forward Russo – United will hope new signing Geyse from Barcelona will be able to fill the goalscoring void. England goalkeeper Mary Earps and midfielder Ella Toone are the other standout players.
Man City have never won the WSL, but their current squad of players promises much. England’s Lauren Hemp is one of the game’s most feared forwards, while Lioness teammates Chloe Kelly and Alex Greenwood played a major part as England reached the women’s World Cup final in 2023. Khadija “Bunny” Shaw is a proven goalscorer, and new signing Jill Roord will add threat from midfield. Odds on City to win their first WSL are shorter than their Manchester rivals, despite finishing nine points behind them last season.
Aston Villa, who finished fifth last season, will be hoping Rachel Daly can continue the form that fired her to the WSL golden boot. You can check back throughout the season to see where WSL betting odds on her to repeat the feat are set.

Popular WSL Betting Markets
Each WSL betting site calls the shots on its own markets, so you can expect slightly different coverage across the bookmaker spectrum. In any case, there are many different ways in which you can place a bet on the Women’s Super League – below are some of the most popular betting markets.
- Match Result — Simply select a home win, an away win or a draw in this market.
- Goalscorer Markets — There are a few different goalscorer markets punters can wager in: first goalscorer, last goalscorer, or anytime goalscorer.
- Correct Score — One of the hardest things to predict in football matches is the correct score, but you can have a go in this market.
- Both Teams to Score — The both teams to score market is particularly useful when two teams are blessed with attacking talent, or when both sides have a leaky defence.
- Match Result and Both Teams to Score — This double bet requires punters to successfully choose the full-time result and for both teams to score in the match. If one of those predictions is wrong then the overall bet will lose.
- Total Goals — Total goals is known as an over/under betting market, where bettors wager on whether the overall number of goals in the game will be over or under the number offered by the sportsbook. Over/under markets can be applied to other stats too, such as corners and cards.
- Player Bets — Punters can also opt to focus their bet slips on players in the game, as opposed to the outcome of the match. Goals, cards, shots, shots on target, passes and tackles are some of the options here.
- Accumulator — Accumulators roll several individual selections into one bet slip, generating odds by multiplying the odds of each selection together. Potential winnings can therefore be much larger than bets with fewer selections, but all of those selections must be correct for the accumulator to win.
- Bet Builder — Bet builders are a function of all the best women’s football betting sites, allowing punters to create their own personalised bet slip across a number of different markets.
WSL In-Play Betting
In-play betting is a market that allows football fans to wager on the game as it’s taking place. It adds an extra dynamism to football betting, with the odds on hundreds of in-play markets fluctuating with every kick of the ball. For the astute fan, in-play betting offers a chance to make more informed bets, as punters watch the action and make predictions on what’s about to happen based on real-time information. At the best WSL betting sites, customers are given access to multiple in-game statistics and can even watch the games through their betting accounts.
Popular WSL Outright Markets
Being aware of the full picture is vital when making outright selections on the WSL: which players have left which clubs, whether there are any long-term injuries that will hinder a team’s season, and what recent WSL performances across the season say about one club’s chances. These are the kinds of questions you should be asking before wagering on an outright WSL market – let’s take a look at the most popular.
- WSL Outright — Make your call on who will be crowned WSL champions at the end of the season.
- WSL Top-Three Finish — The top three finishers in the WSL qualify for next season’s women’s Champions League. Who will join Europe’s top table next year?
- WSL Top Goalscorer — Villa’s Rachel Daly equalled a WSL record with her 22-goal season last year. Will she be the league’s leading scorer again?
- WSL Relegation — Just one team is relegated from the WSL to the Championship. Will Bristol City beat the drop having earned promotion last season?
- WSL Winner/Top Goalscorer — In this market you can wager on both the winner of the WSL and the league’s top goalscorer. Both selections must be right for the bet to win, but you don’t have to select a player from the same club you back to win the league. For example, you could wager on both Chelsea and Russo.
