Wimbledon Day 5 Betting Tips: Friday's 6/1 tennis treble

Another day, another set of Wimbledon tips! And most likely another day of rain delays. The wonderful British weather has interrupted play again at the finest tennis tournament around, but just before that, we were treated to some scintillating action at SW19.
Liam Broady put on one of the games of the tournament so far against Schwartzman where he defied all odds and came back from losing 11 straight games to progress into the third round (his best at a Grand Slam to date).
We were also fortunate enough to witness another Rafael Nadal win on centre court and a grass court masterclass from Nick Kyrgios, two potential candidates to go the whole way perhaps?
Wimbledon Day 5 Betting Tips
We can only hope for more lively tennis today and we’ve certainly got some spicy matchups that should deliver some dramatic action.
It feels like we’re getting agonisingly closer to a full house on our daily Wimbledon tips, so how about enough of the waffle and we get into why we’re all here? Some value.
Up first, one of the most entertaining players on the tour, Alexander Bublik.
Bublik is the type of tennis player who isn't afraid to hit the tweener. Similar to Nick Kyrgios, Alexander values the entertainment factor more than the other players on the tour, but this isn't all he offers.
Bublik has always relished the grass season due to its high pace and I think people don't realise how impressive he is on this surface due to his style of play. He's said multiple times that grass is his home surface and the way he's played on it recently, you can see why.
He absolutely dismantled Fucsovics in his first round match, and also recorded a comfortable straight sets win in his second round match against Dusan Lajovic.
He's now 33 aces in his last two games combined and is yet to have his serve broken. His next opponent will be Francis Tiafoe, who is a very capable player but I don't think he's going to enjoy Bublik's power in this match.
The bookmakers seem to think this is a 50/50 matchup with both players being priced around 10/11, I think this should be a comfortable win for Bublik, who is great value for the win.
Next up we head to the women's side of the tournament where Maria Sakkari faces Tatjana Maria in a matchup that I think Sakkari should absolutely breeze past.
Sakkari has looked incredibly comfortable in her first two matches winning both of them in straight sets as apposed to her opponent who has been forced to a deciding set in both of her games so far.
Sakkari is one of the most powerful and athletic players on the women's side of the game, so it surprises me that she hasn't gone further in Wimbledon in the past, but she's a much better player now and recently reached a career high ranking of 3.
To add to this, the Greek also won their last matchup they played in straight sets. I think with the matchup history and Sakkari's raw athleticism, this should be a straight sets victory for her, which is priced at around 4/7.
Our final tip for this day of tennis comes in the Ugo Humbert vs David Goffin match where the Frenchman is priced as a 11/8 underdog, which is certainly worth backing.
Whilst I've been fairly impressed with Goffin's level of tennis recently, I have to side with Humbert who I do think is a much better grass court player.
Goffin's opening round win at Wimbledon was his first grass court win since 2019 and I don't think it was entirely convincing given the calibre of opponent he played in Radu Albot, who missed several break chances on the day due to some silly unforced errors.
On the other hand I think Humbert, while he may have struggled in his first round, really got going against the ranked number 6 Casper Ruud. A lot of people doubted Ruud coming into Wimbledon but I think many were surprised at how good he looked on the grass. Humbert's win over him really did look solid and he was totally in control after the first set.
Goffin really hasn't been tested yet and still hadn't looked overly convincing, whereas I think Humbert is really starting to warm up in this tournament which is played on arguably his favourite surface.
The last time these players met the Frenchman also recorded a straight set victory. This 11/8 punt will finish our treble which leaves us with a very backable acca priced just over 6/1 with SBK.
