Wimbledon Day 2 Betting Tips: Boosted treble for Day 2

Day two of Wimbledon awaits and thankfully for us spectators, the rainy weather looks to have subsided and we should be treated to a plethora of quality tennis. We've asked our in-house Tennis specialist Steven McQuillan to pick us out a tasty looking treble.
Wimbledon Day 2 Betting Tips
Despite all the rain yesterday, Day one still delivered with Djokovic being tested to his limit, Alcaraz and Struff playing out a thriller and Belinda Bencic pulling out all the tricks to win a set 7-5 even after being 1-5 down.
Similarly to yesterday we'll be picking three value tips for the action today, combining them all into an accumulator and then praying to the tennis god's for a winner.
Up first is a selection which I genuinely am quite surprised at the price. Nick Kyrgios is priced at around the 8/11 mark with most bookmakers to record a straight set victory later against Britain's own Paul Jubb, and to me, that is just incredible value.
Whilst it's never completely safe betting on Nick, there's no doubting his raw tennis ability, even more so on his favourite surface and his favourite competition. There's something about the Australian that has changed recently, he's a lot more focused. Yes, you're still getting his on court antics and what not, but they have died down a little bit and he wants nothing more than to win this whole tournament.
It's no secret that the Australian relishes the faster paced tennis which you're given on the grass court, this was made evident by his two recent warm up runs for Wimbledon in Halle and Stuttgart where he reached the semi-final in both, only to be knocked out by Andy Murray and the grass court specialist, Hubert Hurkacz. In my opinion everything's adding up for a Nick Kyrgios thrashing here, his opponent Paul Jubb is still young and inexperienced on the big stage and to match that his skill-set, to be brutally honest, is not on the level of Kyrgios. 8/11 for a 3-0 Kyrgios win will start off our tipping for the day!
Up next is Britain's own Liam Broady to win his opening round match against Lukas Klein. Liam Broady has a huge amount of experience on the grass court and has always enjoyed the surface since claiming his runner up medal in the boys Wimbledon during the start of his career. Whilst his opponent, I feel, has nowhere near the experience on the surface, which could prove detrimental to his campaign here at Wimbledon.
Liam Broady will feel somewhat happy with the start to his grass season, whilst it may not look overly impressive on paper, Liam has played some of the top hitters on the surface, one of them being Marin Cilic who he just narrowly lost to at Queen's just a few weeks back. His performance that day was genuinely very impressive and he didn't back down from the big-serving Croatian who actually has one of the most grass wins of active players. Liam has proven to be quite an emotional player and does absolutely relish the home crowd being in his favour, something that he will definitely be enjoying in his home tournament at Wimbledon.
Pairing all this with the fact that I believe Lukas Klein to be a more slow paced clay court player, I think 8/13 for Broady to win his game looks a solid bet.
And our final selection of the day may not prove to be a popular pick, but I think makes complete sense given the circumstances, and that is Harmony Tan to take a set off Serena Williams at evens.
I did say we were going for value picks and sometimes in the game of betting you've got to think with your head and not your heart. Serena Williams, as unfortunate as it may be for tennis fans, is getting a lot older and combining that with her lack of playing time recently, she could end up looking completely out of sorts here at Wimbledon. She last played a singles game in 2021 which was at Wimbledon where she ended up retiring at 3-3. I just don't think you can treat an inactive player like this as a 2/7 shot, I wouldn't even be surprised to see Serena lose in straights, but then again, it is Williams we're talking about and if she has any fitness at all, she should take this.
But that is not the case like I mentioned! I think her lack of gametime will be exposed in this match by a player who I do not by any means think is better, but Harmony Tan has been very active recently playing over 10 games in the last two months, and winning three of her last five on grass. The crowd will definitely not be on her side but that shouldn't matter. Serena has played two games on grass in the last three years and has slipped to 1204 in the rankings.
I've played the 'to win a set' market for Harmony Tan just in case Serena does start to warm into the game, but I've no doubt that she will most likely start fairly slow. And that concludes our three picks for the day! All of them combined comes to around 4.4/1 using William Hill's boost feature, a quite tidy treble if you ask me. Regardless of what happens, best of luck with your picks!
