Wimbledon Women’s Semi Final Betting Tips: Who will make it through to Saturday’s Final?
![Odds_v2](/media/images/sport-overides/odds_v2.jpg)
The action at Wimbledon carries on today following a thrilling Day 10.
Rafael Nadal, against all odds, battled back from a set down and a gruelling abdomen injury to beat Taylor Fritz. Nick Kyrgios proved he isn't planning on going home anytime soon with a straight sets victory over Cristian Garin, and Simona Halep proved why she's one of the best on the tour still with a straight sets win over Amanda Anisimova.
Here are the tips for Day 11…
Wimbledon Women’s Semi Final Tips
It'll be tough to top Wednesday but we've got some women’s semi-final action to go at today, starting off with the first last-four clash between One Jabeur and Tatjana Maria.
Ons Jabeur has well and truly taken the grass court season in her stride. She's shown that her tricky tennis style works perfectly on the surface, and the raw pace and power she has really is working to her benefit.
Jabeur actually hasn't lost on grass yet with her last tournament run before Wimbledon being a huge success, lifting the trophy at the Grass Court Championships in Berlin. To add to that she has only dropped one set at SW19 so far and I can't see her dropping one against Tatjana Maria.
It's not a hard game to call for the winner as you can see the bookmakers are well and truly on the Tunisian’s side, making her a 1/9 favourite for the match. The only way you're really going to get any value out of this is a straight sets win for Jabeur which still isn't the most enticing price at 2/5, but I do think it's the best you're going to do from this match.
Maria has unfortunately spent way too much time on court at Wimbledon this year and I think it's going to show. If you were to compare, four of Jabeur's five games have all been straight set victories for her, Maria has had to have four long three-set matches which will seriously be impacting her in this match.
Adding to that Jabeur has a winning h2h record here with two wins compared to Maria's one. Ranked No.2, Jabeur should make relatively light work of the 103-ranked Maria, and it could be a fast two set victory for her which we're backing as our first tip.
Next up is Elena Rybakina vs Simona Halep, in what should actually be a very competitive semi-final. The two have been exceptional so far with Halep making it here without dropping a set and Rybakina only dropping one which was in her win yesterday against Ajla Tomljanovic.
Halep has a 2-1 winning record over Rybakina but the matches have always been very close. Their first matchup was won by Rybakina due to an early retirement from Halep just before Rybakina was about to win the first set. The other two matches have been forced to three sets.
Given this I find it pretty crazy to see around 17/20 for Rybakina to win a set against Halep. She has proved she is more than capable of testing the former Wimbledon champ and she's looked better than ever so far. Halep's results on paper look immaculate but it's not fair to say that she's not been tested. Anisimova, yesterday, could have tested her a lot further if she was able to convert a break in the final game where she was 0-40 up. Halep also just narrowly escaped the last set against Flipkens in the second round, but in all fairness apart from those two she has locked solid.
But Halep is worth taking on to at the very least drop a set considering the history between these two players. She comes in as a 1/3 favourite which is not worth backing this deep into a slam, don't be surprised to see Rybakina show her quality in this match and put a terrific serving display on as she has done this whole tournament. Just touching on Rybakina's serving numbers, she has recorded the most aces out of anyone on the women's side of the tournament with 44 aces, the next best being Garcia at 30, so you can really tell how much of a weapon it has been for her, it's also a trait that goes incredibly far on the grass court; if you can hold with ease you're going to have a good time.
Unfortunately with the limited action, we are just going to be playing the double for Thursday which is priced at around 1.59/1. Nothing massive but with their only being two singles games on, we'd definitely take that as a result.
