The Irons put up a spirited display before being undone by two late goals in their 2-0 Europa League defeat to runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday.
However, they will be glad to be back at the London Stadium to take on the Cottagers, even though it looks as if they will be without top goalscorer Jarrod Bowen, who has a rib injury.
The Hammers have been strong on their own patch and will be looking to build on the 2-1 league win they gained at Wolves last week.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers need to start proving themselves on the road after generally performing well at Craven Cottage this season, despite a 1-0 loss to Newcastle the last time they were on the banks of the Thames.
Marco Silva has a fully fit squad but may elect to make changes following successive defeats to Nottingham Forest and the Magpies.
West Ham vs Fulham Tips
West Ham put in one of their most disappointing performances of the season when they were beaten 5-0 at Craven Cottage in December, but they have been generally strong at home and should be able to gain revenge on Sunday.
A 6-0 humbling by Arsenal sent shockwaves around the London Stadium in February, but that has been the only league defeat they have suffered on their own patch since October.
The fact that it will be extremely difficult to progress in the Europa League after their 2-0 quarter-final first-leg defeat in Germany should ensure the Hammers press on in their efforts to gain a place in next season’s competition via a top-six finish.
And David Moyes’ side should be backed to maintain their push by beating Fulham, who have won just one of their last 15 Premier League away games.
The Cottagers’ 3-1 defeat at Forest in their last road match was their seventh defeat in their last 10 on their travels and it would have been eight had they not come from 3-1 with two late goals to earn a point at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United.
Bowen’s likely absence is a blow for the home side, but others will have the opportunity to step up, with Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus one to keep a close eye on.
Kudus has made a decent impression since joining from Ajax; scoring 13 goals in all competitions in his first season in English football should not be sniffed at.
There could be more space for him to push on with Bowen missing and he definitely needs no second invitation to have a pop at goal.
He has had 31 efforts in his last 10 league games and, after establishing himself firmly in Moyes’ line-up, he is worth an interest in the first-goalscorer market at an attractive 7/1.
