Turkey vs Wales Cheat Sheet

Wales' second group game of Euro 2021 sees them face a Turkey side who were well beaten in their opener on Friday, losing 3-0 to Italy in what was the first game of this summer's tournament.
Rob Page's men played out a 1-1 draw with Switzerland in Group A's other match which sees them reside in third place heading into this one. The tables could turn extremely quickly, however, should Turkey manage a win and leapfrog them in the standings.
Obtaining three points is crucial for both sides' chances of qualifying for the knockout stage of the tournament, but on paper it is a really tough one to call and a game that could easily go either way.

Standout Stats
With only one game played at Euro 2021 there isn't a great deal of fresh stats to divulge, however one player who massively caught the eye with his performance against Switzerland was Kieffer Moor. The Cardiff City front man scored Wales' equaliser on Saturday to ensure his country avoided defeat in their first outing, and was rewarded for his positive play in the final third which saw him get three shots off at goal - two of which landed on target.
Moor's stats in the Championship this season - where he finished with an average of 2.3 shots per game (1 on target) - were impressive and led many to believe that he would enjoy a successful tournament for Wales at Euro 2021. He has started perfectly and will certainly fancy his chances of adding to his tally against a Turkey side who shipped three goals in their opener.
Turkey struggled against Italy and that is perfectly illustrated by the fact that not one of their players registered a single shot on target against the Azzurri. Cengiz Under and Burak Yilmaz were the only players to take a single shot in that match, but up against a weaker defensive outfit I'd expect that to change. Yilmaz's shots targets last season were high, with 2.2 p.g so there is definitely cause to believe that he can offer much more in the final third, especially after such a quiet start.
Leicester's Caglar Soyuncu was booked against Italy and will have his hands full with Kieffer Moor in this one. The Turkish centre-back is a physical presence in the heart of defence but will meet his match with the 6ft 5 Welshman to contend with; this could well lead to a second booking so he is perhaps a player worth looking out for in the cards market for this encounter.
