Mid Bedfordshire By-Election Odds: Nadine Dorries set for parliamentary exit
A by-election in Nadine Dorries's seat of Mid-Bedfordshire has been called and it is being held on 19th October 2023.
Just under a month ago, three by-elections took place around the country with the in-situ Conservative Party expected to lose all three.
However, thanks to confusion over ULEZ, the Tories managed to survive the Uxbridge & South Ruislip By-Election by the skin of their teeth, taking their majority down from 7210 to just 495, but lost the other two. It now looks as if the Conservatives will be able to cling onto this seat by the skin of their teeth!
In this seat, the incumbent Nadine Dorries had announced her plans to resign in June this year, after missing out on a place in the House of Lords from the departing prime-ministers resignation honours list.
However, two months and she was still in place, much to the dismay of her constituents and the councils she represents who took the unusual steps to publish a letter calling for her instant exit.

Mid Bedfordshire By-Election Odds
Although she won't be defending her candidacy, she won her seat in 2019 with a majority of 24,664 and it looks as if it could be a very close call by the Liberal Democrats to take the seat away from the Conservatives, one they have held onto since 1931.
However, as mentioned above in the recent South Ruislip by-election, the Labour Party were priced at 1/12 (a 92.3% chance of winning) and narrowly missed out.
This election will be a highly contested affair and all parties will be bringing out the big guns to win the seat. Currently, the odds vary for a Liberal Democrats victory have slid from 3/4 to as high as 15/4, implying they have sliped from a 60% chance of winning with Unibet to 20%. These odds will change as we get closer to the election date in October, keep a check with our trusted Betting Sites above.
Who Is Nadine Dorries?
Nadine Vanessa Dorries is a British author and former politician who served as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from 2021 to 2022. She has been the Member of Parliament for Mid Bedfordshire from 2005 to 2023 for the Conservative Party.
Still, to the UK public, she will be best remembered for eating a camel toe and an ostrich anus on the 2012 edition of I'm A Celebrity.
She made the trip to Australia to film the show whilst being an active MP without informing the House of Commons and subsequently had the parliamentary whip suspended and failed to declare her fee for taking part to the parliamentary commissioner for standards and was made to apologise to the House.
