Eurovision 2023 Odds: Sweden favourites to be crowned winners in Liverpool
This Spring, the Eurovision Song Contest will hold its 67th edition. Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra emerged as winners in the previous year, entitling them to host the 2023 contest as per tradition. However, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, an alternative venue has been arranged, with Liverpool in the United Kingdom being selected as the host city.
When is Eurovision?
The Eurovision Song Contest consists of two semi-finals, which will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, before a grand final which will be on the Saturday evening.
- Semi-Final 1: Tuesday 9 May 2023
- Semi-Final 2: Thursday 11 May 2023
- Grand Final: 13 May 2023
Who are the favourites?
At the head of the betting in the Outright Winner market we have Sweden who are priced at 10/11 with Paddy Power and several other betting sites. Those odds imply a 52% chance that Sweden will be crowned the winners. A win for the Swedes would see them tie level with Ireland for the most ever Eurovision wins with seven. Loreen is the artist who the bookies believe has the most chance of taking first place with the song “Tattoo”.
Next in the market we have another Scandanavian nation in Finland, who at the time of writing are being offered at 9/2. Finland will be represented by Kaarija, who will be performing their song “Cha Cha ‘Cha”. Finland last won the competition back in 2006 with Rock Band Lordi.
Rounding off the top three in the betting is the 2022 Champions, Ukraine. It is a real shame that the event cannot be held in The Ukraine due to the current circumstances, but for those who fancy a repeat of last year’s result, 11/2 is widely available. Tvorchi are the act who will be performing in Liverpool with their hit “Heart of Steel”.

Any to watch out for at a big price?
After being as big as 40/1 with some bookmakers just a few days ago, bookmakers have seen some money come for Israel in the winner market, and they are now as short as 12/1 with William Hill.
For those wondering about the United Kingdom, 33/1 is on offer. After the success of finishing second last year with the UK’s best points total since 1998 (466 points), our entry for 2023, Mae Muller will have big shoes to fill with “I Wrote A Song”. However, this is the first in ten years that an act from the show has entered the UK Top 40 charts, which may well give home to some patriotic punters.
It’s also worth noting that most bookmakers such as bet365, William Hill, Unibet and BoyleSports are all offering each-way betting at 1/5 the odds with four places available here on the winner market for those looking for something at longer odds.
